Need to be careful when making those claims, especially about mites. Time will tell and I hope they do improve but looks like they need more time based on early results from district playoffs.MrBoDangles wrote:A couple more from District 10.
St. Francis has some very good talent at the Squirt and Mite levels coming up. The A Squirt team has a very good record and only one or two losses against District opponents. Their Mites are also looking pretty good. Benik was a big part of giving these kids a passion for Hockey.
North Branch has also been impressive at the Squirt level. They have a very large rostered B-1 team that has a very good record. Probably would be at the very top of B-1 or had a pretty decent A team if they rostered 11-13 like most other associations they play against. Their Mites are very talented. Could of easily had one of the best, or the best, A Mite teams in District 10. Instead, North Branch divided them into two B teams by age. The result has been two B teams with no competition.
Good to see a few programs taking a turn for the better.
What are some up and coming organizations and why?

St. Francis has 3 or 4 third graders on an A Squirt team that was undefeated in the district through three quarters of the season........... Yes, they lost to Blaine in overtime in the District tournament....... Big Deal! They have a promising group. Sorry they are not up to your standards.....silentbutdeadly3139 wrote:MrBoDangles wrote:silentbutdeadly3139 wrote: Need to be careful when making those claims, especially about mites. Not sure what you mean and not picking on St. Francis or N Branch but St Francis Squirt A team lost their 2 district playoff games. N Branch B1 went 1-1 and didn't have an A team. From looks of district 10 playoffs nothing seems to have changed.
North Branch B-1's tied and lost 1-0 in the tournament to Centennial's (Great team) 15-30 players. North Branch has only ONE squirt team. They have received tons of compliments from people unlike you. They have won their other two district tournament games by a wide margin.... They have a promising group. Sorry they are not up to your standards......

Like I said I'm not picking on either assoc., in fact I know families in those assoc. but look at the thread title. I didn't set the standards, others did when they discuss Andover, Minneapolis Storm, STMA, Prior Lake and Farmington, teams that have had success in districts, tournaments and have growing numbers of players. Hard to say these 2 assoc. are up and coming if they aren't successful in districts, tournaments or growing in numbers of players. Theres nothing wrong with small assoc. but grow up and quit being so sensitive to people questioning if an association is really up and coming if they aren't growing can only field a single B1 squirt team. Like someone said a successful assoc. is one that grows, recruits and retains players.MrBoDangles wrote:St. Francis has 3 or 4 third graders on an A Squirt team that was undefeated in the district through three quarters of the season........... SBD, are you nuts? What's your beef.... did they spank your six year old? North Branch has more mites than any other association in the area. They are recruiting hard..... They are starting to build a rink this summer..... They are starting to keep their better talent........... Their squirts might be the start of a "UP AND COMING GROUP"MrBoDangles wrote:A couple more from District 10.

St Francis has some amazing talent in their younger teams. Shows promise that they could be a "UP AND COMING GROUP"
I bet you could really show your class and tear down the Coon Rapids program. Terrible thing that guy was doing saying that the program is showing some promise.

I never tore down anyone, just questioned if they were really up and coming ... chill out and grow up if if can't have a civil discussion. Glad to hear they are growing, I see they do have a lot of mites and like you said they "might" or "could" be up and coming. Time will tell. And no they didn't "spank" ( who talks like that about 6 yr olds ) any of my son's teams ... you don't want to go there.MrBoDangles wrote:SBD, are you nuts? Why would you not take someone's word for it? I was talking about a group of promising very young skaters...... It takes a childish adult to take the time to say they're not.silentbutdeadly3139 wrote:I never tore down anyone, just questioned if they were really up and coming ... chill out and grow up if if can't have a civil discussion. and it takes a very childish adult to talk about "spanking" a 6 yr old's team and be so defensive when anyone questions a statement. Again great for all the small assoc. that are growing. best of luck to them in the future.MrBoDangles wrote:Why would you not take someone's word for it? You like to think your brilliant, my posts are are quoted and you can see what my edit was. I added "( who talks like that about 6 yr olds )" after noticing/thinking how childish it was. This has exchange has grown old. Good luck to St Francis and North Branch. Keep up the good work.MrBoDangles wrote:Now you're going to change up your posts???????????? not that it matters--The SF-Blaine A SQ game went to a 7 player shoot out. 1 of there better players couldn't participate because he was in the box at the end of OT. St Francis out played and out shot Blaine during the game.MrBoDangles wrote:St. Francis has 3 or 4 third graders on an A Squirt team that was undefeated in the district through three quarters of the season........... No Joke, STMA could use a second sheet of ice, 465 kids in a hockey program, one sheet of ice, going to practice in St. Cloud, Princeton, it's joke but you have to deal with it.....

Mr. Bo,
I see you have 8 mite teams on your website. Good job trying to recruit kids. Hopefully when your new rink is built things will get better for the association.
I do have one question, has your association changed their jersey's? Just asking because the one's I have seen in the past are just plain ugly. Red, Black, Grey, Yellow and that ugly vikings ripoff logo doesn't look to good. If you haven't, you might want to take a look at it.
Just sayin.

Re: What are some up and coming organizations and why?
How drastic is that drop off? The STMA PWB's are going to State. The 97, 98 & 99's are a solid group of athlete's all around - A or B level.MnMade-4-Life wrote:STMA squirt A and PWA are both very strong, but drastic drop off to "B" levels ... Associations
The question should be:
What associations have been established for many years, but struggle with devlopment?
