Wow, Sartell 8-3 winners over Little Falls on Tuesday this week. That sure upsets the apple cart in Section 6A!HShockeywatcher wrote:

I don’t think simply beating Little Falls gives you the top spot, but being that the two don’t meet again, Wilmar is in the driver’s seat. If they keep winning, they could get the #1 seed in the section.
Don't forget about I Falls, they are not a team to take lightly. They are starting to form a decent team. Sec 7 is up for grabs, with the team that is playing the best hockey will most likely win it. We have a month to play so anything can happen.
yeah and everyone looks at I Falls and thinks that since they are under .500 then they aren't good. Well they are under because 11 varsity players got suspended for two weeks. They lost playing with their JV! Now they have everyone back and are proving they are good. I think them and Hibbing have the best chance of winning section 7A. Virginia=overrated every year. Hendrickson=way overrated

Couple questions as fuel for discussion?
1. Where does the Totino/Breck game leave the top teams? Is Totino #1 because they won better than the #1 team? A win's a win, so Totino could move up and this just brings Breck down? Or what?
2. What happens if Breck beats Blake? Blake beat Totino and Totino beat Breck so we'd have a A-B-C deal going on.
3. Regardless of 1 and 2, how do SSP and H-town fit into all of this? Barring an STA win tomorrow night, should the Hawks slip up to #1?
GoWild, I can only speak for myself, not "everyone" but I'd just throw out there that their losses were not all within a two week span. Their 7 goal loss to a 15-25 range Proctor team was 20 days before their 2 goal loss to a lower Albert Lea team. Admittedly, like any ranking system I both a) rank based on results of games, not players playing but also b) use the most recent games more heavily than the earlier ones. That being said, the Broncos could finish the season with two more losses and still have only one or two more quality wins.

Which team would/could beat any other team in single A right now?HShockeywatcher wrote:Couple questions as fuel for discussion?

OR who is #1?
I think everything that happens makes STA the #1 team.
Then Hermantown, then Totino...
then Thief River Falls and So St Paul and Blake

I think you are putting too much emphasis on a margin of victory. Here is the way I see it:HShockeywatcher wrote:Couple questions as fuel for discussion?

1-STA
2-Blake
3-Totino
4-Hermantown
5-Breck
6-South St. Paul
7-Duluth Marshall
8-Rochester
9-Warroad
10-?? (There are several teams that should be considered)
Regardless of the out come of the HM games, I don't see STA dropping down from the #1 spot, unless the lose or tie to one of their other remaining games
Hermantown could move up to #1 spot with a win over EP and with STA losses to HM, but I would not move them down with an EP loss. Hermantown could move up to #3 with a Breck win over Blake (behind Totino) who would move up to #2.
Totino has games left with both STA & Blake and even if they lose to both of them, I still would not drop them from the #3 spot, nor move Hermantown above them.
Hermantown’s Thief River Falls tie is what keeps them out of the top 3 spot for now and now their loss to Bemidji taints the value of their win over Grand Rapids, who in turn beat Bemidji.
