I totally agree Dangles! I mean whoever would have thought at the beginning of the season that one team could go 3-0 against Wayzata.

I'm sure wayzata would take it to them. But we have to see what wayzata is actually made of with a slew conference games Edina, ep, and tonka

So maybe the Spuds felt disrespected by Coach Davis' decision to start a backup goaltender against them over (I'm assuming) a healthy McIntyre, so they took it out on the backup. Or the backup just wasn't ready to play.
Either way, I guess Davis thought they could beat the Spuds using a backup goaltender

and it came back to bite him in the backside.

Sounds like a serious case of "Trojan Frustration" - take 2 aspirins & don't call me - probably won't cure anything but you'll keep Bayer in business !

I was there for periods 1 and 2 only.
1) Wayzata starts their back up goalie who had not played all year. Personally, I do not understand the logic here. Based on the results from rd 1, I would have started the main guy. He is a very strong goalie.
2) Wayzata controls 1st 3 minutes of the game big time. Wayzata takes 3 penalties within minutes and Moorhead has 5 on 3. Moorhead scores and goes up 1 to 0. These penalties changed the entire momentum of the game and flow.
3) Wayzata comes back and scores shorthanded minutes later.
4) Spuds take 3 more shots on goal and score. 4 shots 4 goals on the Wayzata back up.
Wayzata dug themselves a hole and they could not recover.
I have to say Carl made the biggest coaching blunder of the year starting the back up goalie. I do not know the logic here. Wayzata plays Edina and Eden Prairie this week. Lets see if they rebound or continue the downward spiral.

Thanks for the game recap Gopherfan119....
I have a few questions. The goals that Moorhead scored were they quality shots or garbage goals? Im guessing that either Moorhead had limited scoring chances/shots on net or Wayzata made some serious defensive blunders. The penalties that were called were they legit calls or did the refs do a poor job. If you can get more insite to what happened in the third and end of the game that would be great.

Now Dagle really you have been beaten not once but twice by a non ranked Spud team that was without thier top offensive player, and three of thier six defensemen. From what it sounds like the Spuds have Wayzatas number! Perhaps we might see each other again at state....but until then all you have are excuses as to why a top ranked team has lost TWICE to a team everyone including me thought should have won.

Moorhead showed no class after the game not shaking hands due to the rough play by both sides and after the game there was a scrum. Wayzata lined up and moorhead skated off the ice. Terrible coaching also moorhead coaches didnt even shake the hands of the wayzata coaches.
The game sheet on Hockey Hub has the shots 37-13 Moorhead.

How did this happen? Spuds should thank their goaltender for that one. Can't believe Lucia's line didnt step up and bury a couple on Moorheads defense.

Wow - that's a HUGE gap. Only a little LESS impressive than "4-1"
