Shots were 29 for Shattuck and 16 for Wayzata through 2 periods.
Did Shattuck suit up the girls or do they have a B squad? Only 6-0?

No, that is the Tier 1 squad
But Wayzata came back and beat them 3-1 over the weekend and Elk River tied them 4 4. The Edina game was tied 3-3 going into the 3rd before Shattuck eventually won 6-3...

Remember, Shattuck Tier 1 Bantam A is a 96 team. Top Minnesota Bantam A teams will be heavy 95 teams with some 96s. Early in the year the jump from PeeWee A to Bantam A is a big one.

Noted...... And has you know our MN Bantam teams have 96's and 97's on the team has well...95 top heavy? I guess I can give you that but a 9th grader is a 9th grader - 95 or 96. One year from now - they won't care if he is a 95 or 96 10th grader. 10th grade is 10th grade
I would bet to say that ALL those Shattuck players are 2nd yr Bantams
And the recruiting area that association teams come from are what - 5 to 10 square miles?? towns like Way, Edina, EP, Cent, WBL, etc...Compared to Shattucks worldwide capabilities of recruiting.
I don't buy that excuse that just cause Shattuck has all 96's - most of them in 9th grade makes any kind of difference that they are somehow younger and weaker or that MN Bantams have any kind of advantage. Most MN bantam teams have 1/2 thier team that are 1st year bantams

I know of two kids on that team that played pee wee A's last year....so there could be more!

The top MN Bantam A teams will be almost entirely 2nd years and in some instances almost all 95s.
The EP super senior class I had heard were 13 92s with bithdays after July 1 when they won their Bantam A title a few years ago. Not only all second year players but the oldest of them as well. Pretty interesting and rare.
I'm not saying that beating any Shattuck team isn't an awesome accomplishment because they do recruit worldwide. I'm just pointing out the the top Bantam A teams in MN this year will be almost all second year players and in some instances mostly 95s.

YOU GOT TO BE KIDDIN ME!!! Wayzata. Three 97s including a goalie... EP at least 3- 97s Burnsville two 97's three 96's including a goalie... Edina loaded with 96's... Where do you guys come up with this stuff? Now Shattuck is a good team and with their recruiting base should be kicking the snot out of these teams... Maybe it is early in the year but it is early in the year for everyone...You got to come up with something better than that when making excuses for a private school.. Next thing you will be talking about is that Shattuck had to travel up to blaine...

But not in the large associations. Shattuck's Tier I team is usually playing Wayzata, Edina, Eden Prairie, or similar.

SSM is a nice school and team. The three teams (Wayzata, Edina & Elk River) that played them over the weekend just demonstrate the strength of community based hockey in MN.
All three games close and could have gone either way. Teams are made up of the players the coach picks and all four basically have the same age band to pick from.
Pretty soom everyone will want to dissect if a 96 but only 2 born early in the year vs 4 on the other team born in Aug, etc. No excuses needed by anyone just good hockey.
A lot of good competition @ Centennial this weekend.

Excellent game in Wayzata today.
Wayzata beat EP 4-3 in OT. It was a fast paced, well played game by both teams.

Did Vaughan Ahrens the 1st year Bantam A goalie play in net? He has a very bright future. No, I'm not him, or in his family.

How did they do on Saturday in the Chicago tourney?
I know they miss Iverson but Hale is exceptional. How did Hanks look up front and Lukasavage on defense?
