I agree. For all the talk of "watered down" AAA it is good to see more get the opportunity to play higher level summer hockey even if its not AAA/Tier I caliber of play. The AAA label has become a marketing tool and yes there are some who think they are AAA/Tier I caliber when they really are not but the vast majority know they are not AAA/Teir I caliber but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be allowed to play in the summer. No harm no foul in my opinion ... its not like these teams are demanding to be included in the most prestigious tournaments because they play AAA hockey in Minnesota. At least I hope they are not.IcePick wrote:In a few years, it will be really interesting to see if all this summer hockey increases the quality of play at the High School level and creates more opportunities for Minnesota kids post-high school. . . . in the meantime . . . it is pretty cool (my opinion) to see so many kids get the chance to play summer hockey!muckandgrind wrote:I just can't believe how many teams there are these days....it wasn't too long ago when the only teams were basically the Predators, Christian Brothers, Lightning, Icemen, LSS and Blades.
Now we have the Bauer Supremes and Vapor, CCM Capitals, Monopoly and Flyers, RBK and Reebok Nationals, Raging Bulls, STE, United AAA, North Fire, Machine, Torspo, Mavericks, Legacy, Breakaway, Edge, Flames, Easton Synergy and Stealth, Fighting Loons, Gulls, Jr Beavers, NW Prospects, No Wis Blizzard, Miracle, Machine, Min/Wis Elites, ITR 26ers, etc. etc. etc.
Wow....
Somewhere there has to be a place for bubble teams working to get to the higher level.
