I was at the rink watching another game and came over just in time to witness this episode. 99 Torspo was playing the Blades and Torspo coach called a timeout and proceeded to blast his own team to the point one of the Torspo's parents yelled across the rink for him to "shut up". This guy is a complete disaster and an embarrasment to Minnesota Made, AAA hockey, Meltdown Tournament, and all of us who coach the great game of hockey, and should not be allowed behind the bench or even be allowed in an ice rink in the State of Minnesota. Any parent who has a kid on this team should immediately call Bernie McBain and demand this guy be removed from the bench, or pull your kid from the team. If he would have acted like this outside the arena towards 10-11 year old boys, outside the setting of a hockey game, someone would have called the police and he would be in handcuffs. It was THAT BAD! There is NO EXCUSE for behavior like that, I repeat NONE.

I've seen this idiot's exploits for several years now. He used to coach with Easton at the 99 level and also coaches in Champlin Park at the Squirt level. He was ejected from the rink last winter for yelling at the refs during the North St. Paul tourney. He also came close to being ejected Sunday during the 3rd place game at the Meltdown, for arguing with the refs. He's a complete disaster and a joke. Anyone know this guy's name? He should stick to something he knows something about...cutting hair (he's giving the barbar trade a bad name!)

This is the same guy who who got tossed from a game up in North St Paul this past season. The Torspo coaches all seem a little unstable. You would think that BM has enought negative issues going on that he would can these guys now before the team folds. What a classic parents tell there own coach to shut up you cannot make it up! My understanding that the 99 Blades scored two goals and that sent this coach postal. Did the Blades have much competition?

Meltdown was a nice tournament they always do a good job with the scheduling and keeping games on time. Reffing was good from what I saw at the 99 level.. two classless coaches out of 12 that I saw. One of them from the Made. The other from WESconsin...They wouldn't last long if my kid was playing for them...Mabe the Made should rethink their hiring practices... Hey HD 41 are you out there? another DOCUMENTED Mark against the Bernie Buddies... Don't say we didn't try to warn you but you keep your head in the sand over there. How did the Machine end up? I saw on another thread that they lost at least one game.

Since your calling out Coaches, Affilliates and "Owners" lets call all them out! Not just MN Made!

You have a problem with the 99 "WESconsin" Coach. Call it like it is. That team was the 99 Wisconsin jr Badgers. I dont see you calling out the owner of that program? How come? The teams website is listed below along with the contact info for the owner of that business. Where were your posts a few years back when your "Blades" Orginization had coaching issues at the 98 level? Yes, both of those guys are gone now but are those "Documented Marks " against Arko and Moore!

a good friend reff'ed a few games today in ST Louis Park, Not sure of the age, but the team was Torpso. Said the coach called a timeout and went postal on his kids. He feels awful that he didn't remove the coach from the game. I told him that is a difficult line, and basically apologized that he was put in that spot. He said he was never really taught how to deal with a coach being out of control with his own team. Why don't associations or AAA organizations police their own?

Thanks for the link.. Jeff Barth I beilieve... Has the same Handle bar 80's mustache Is there a common thread with idiot coaches? Hey Butt,,, I will call out any idiots that act like that Including Blades coaches if I see it ... I am not privy to any of those whith that organization and if they pop up I am sure that they will be called out. Any coach that yells at the 9-=10 year old kid from an apponant and send a 9-10 year old out to try to hurt another 9-10 year old should be removed from thier position. I will be sending an e-mail to the Badgers Owner director.

Shame on all of those organizations that continue to put people like this in charge of a 10year old. I understand a "one off" incident but sounds like both of these two have a long history.. thankfully my son has had the opportunity be on the other team when this stuff is happening and has learned from afar that there are lots of nutbags in this world.

I watched that coach throw sticks over the boards on 2 occasions last year, just during the Easton cup. I just don't get it. One of the kids in a torspo outfit said after the game to his buddy, "atleast he didn't snap any sticks." He has to go!

I heard the competitive Edge team was the 99' monopoly. They were trying to get their name out there of their training facility that's moving to Edina. At least that's what one of the parents said.

Over all I was impressed with the tournament. There were a lot of good players and teams. It was good to see a lot more parity. The blades wer definitely the class of the 99's and 98's. The other divisions looked very competitive.

I've seen this guy in action before as the head coach of the Champlin Park A Squirts. Not in a million years would I pay money to have this maniac coach my kid. I don't have a problem with a coach being stern with the players if the situation warrants it...but this guy goes to far, IMO.

Hockey coaches sometimes need to be loud; rinks have terrible acoustics, kids have helmets, and crowds are noisy. But, as you would tell your kids when they're little, 'if someone says something or does something that makes you feel icky in your tummy, then you need to run away'.

My obsession is to have a quality well rounded young athelete. I really don't need idiots threatening my kid on the ice and making comments to other teams such as "If you try that move again you are going to pay for it"... Quoted from the Badgers coach... Maybe we should have had JR.HD41 on our team and had 6'3" Jr run over and kick the coaches A%*... Instead I am happy that my son knows that he finished the game with class and he and the rest of his team had a laugh at the other coaches expense. I am also glad that there is a forum out here so that his deeds are out for the paying public to see...Hey HD if you ever see me posting things that are not fully explained please do as Buttend did above and remind me that I need to be fair..

Maybe someone should let an executive with the Torspo company know where their sponsorship money is going towards. I sure wouldn't want my company's reputation assoiciated with this guy. I might think twice about buying a Torspo product knowing some of it might be going into this guys pocket. It's too bad, because this team looked like they had some talent, but it's being coached by a guy who couldn't teach a monkey how to eat a banana.

Dog you are 100% on target the game does not need coaches screaming at players of any age there is nothing more unproductive. I was told that BM lost it in Chicago with his 99 team in particular the defense so I guess that means thats ok for the Torspo coach must be in the organization hand book!

What I find bizarre is that the parents not all but most let the coaches there at that orgainzation get away with this behavior. I would bet that if this was a teacher in there kids school they would be all over the district and school. Someone should let the Star and Trib in on this great hockey program as a follow up from there first article on how they support positve play and coaching with 10 year olds!
