Yeah, the one with 30+ stitches in his leg from yesterday got cleared to play, and the Dman from yesterday didn't incur a penalty that required sitting out. So, the 96 WI team is just down the one forward, definitely for the afternoon game, likely tomorrow. Its just part of the game.......

And I bet tomorrows 96 playoff games will be great hockey......

Very competitive tournament at the 96 level. Semis should be awesome. It looks like the Blades have locked up the #1 seed in one pool with the winner of Wisco Selects / Deuce taking #2. The other pool is a dog fight. It looks like the Machine (who should beat Easton) and either the Jr. Jets, MLH or NPI Leafs. MLH beat the Leafs 1-0 this morning. The Leafs goalie is fantastic (no, he is not my son or relative). If the Jr. Jets beat NPI this afternoon, they clinch one of the two seeds. If they lose or tie, MLH advances provided they beat Easton Synergy.

Wouldn't it have been nice of Mr McBain to splurge and use a website that would update game scores?

96 WI Selects won 5-2 over the Deuce to lock up the #2 spot in the red division (Blades #1). The Blue division is still undecided as far as I know.

This situation was an absolute classic! - if you have ever seen the tv series The Tournament you would have thought maybe the show was at Wacota filming and you walked onto the set.

96 Final: WI Selects vs. Winnipeg Jr. Jets

Selects beat the Machine 4-3; Jets came back from 3 goals down to the Blades in the third to take it to OT and then win the shootout.

Should be a good final!

A Canadian Dad went nuts for no real reason and parents from his team and other teams tried to calm him down in the lobby and there was some pushing. Seemed like a bad guy, blaming American refs, yelling some pretty foul profanity with in front of many youngsters. He is "the parent" at every tournament that embarrasses everyone at the rink. Even the Canadian hockey Moms were telling him to pipe down, so my bet is that it is not a new thing for him.

thunderwolf - it doesn't matter. Saw it all weekend from the out of town parents at all ages. The best was a 2000 game where the Dad went nuts because his son missed 3 goals and their team lost by 6 goals. As if... As you know, no different than any other tournament. Some parents actually think that this stuff matters. Ever see those same guys yelling at the parent-teacher conferences when a teacher "blows a call" on a spelling test to the point where other parents need to come in a settle him down? Enough said. Great tournament, great teams, great parents, a couple of out of town a-holes.

Where are the 97 scores? Why can't Bernie post the scores on the website? With all the money he made selling $4 beers, he should be able to hire a webmaster.

Stars and Stripes Tournament

Post by edgework »

I am sure you won't see a mass press release from BM's tournament this time. His two poster child teams, the 96s and 99s both lost.
The 99 Blades crushed his almighty 99 Machine. Most of the game was running time.

I heard the Deuce at the 96 level also got put into running time this weekend by the Blades and Minnesota Legacy teams. It seems like the aura and mystic of Minnesota Made is losing a little luster - perhaps at some levels more than others.

Who won at the 97 level?

Bernie selling the beer or Joe Senser selling the beer? Thank God it was only $4.00. Beats any other sporting event
