LOL, sounds like a hockey version of something that Denny Green would say.

I lol'd.

Let me just summarize Lou Nanne right now.. Please send me whatever they were planning on paying him, Based on last year's commentary.

"all of a sudden, all of a sudden, aaron ness, all of a sudden, aaron ness, aaron ness, Edina was onsides in 1981, all of a sudden."

(replace aaron ness with nick leddy, anders lee, and marshall everson.)

Phil is the man, pure brilliance. His commentary brings you inside the mind of a legit hockey genius. Lou loved Ness last year, I remember one from the first round, "This is a joke!" as he is chuckling after Ness dangled and scored with ease in the first round.

I am pretty sure I just heard him say, "warroad came in like a lion and out like a storm" Ahhh I always knew that one as lamb and lion.

Really the joke is all of you whining. Want some cheese to go with it?

I'd bet none of you could do any better than Housley.

Yes, but none of us are getting paid to do color for the games. I hate it when people are like "you wouldn't do any better at . . ." He's the one doing the game, not some amateur on a message board. If he's been hired to do something, he should be good at it, and the fact of the matter is, he is not![/i]

You know - I bet some of the people who frequent this board COULD do better - I honestly think so!

I have a feeling people will find a renewed faith in Lou after four days of Phil. "Hutchinson has gotta do better to get more shots on goal."

I think everyone here could do just as good.
BTW. How come you didn't do your patented link to the old thread of this topic?

How about some NEW stories. Mayasich, Ikola, Boucha, blah blah blah.

There are a lot of Minnesotans playing/played in the NHL. Let's have some new faces. I'd like a story about life after hockey for some of the stars of the last 20 years.

"Hanowski scores his 5th goal of the night. He is averaging 5 goals a game with 68 (not sure exactly the number, but its right aroun there) goals in 29 games."

29 times 5 is 145...little off man

In the breck/lourdes game, Breck was on the Power Play:

"Breck is having a hard time bringing keeping it in the rochester zone, if they get it in the zone they will outnumber them in front of the net."

This is BEMIDJI STATE hockey.

haha.. there were tons of good ones last night.

"Breck is doing a great job of positioning defensively, especially in their own zone."

Yea.. Because they play defense when they have the puck and are forechecking?

The best one didn't come from Housley though, but from that whatever Hansen guy.

He's interviewing the Lourdes head coach.. and he asked him what they need to do differently.. it went like this..

Hansen: What do you think you need to do differently in the 2nd?
Coach: We can't let them get odd man rushes, we need to get our forwards back. They are a fast team and we can't afford to give them chances.
Hansen: OBVIOUSLY OBVIOUSLY..... Ghhkk

Best so far.

His 5th goal put him at 71 for the season and it was Clay Matvick that said this.

I was walking through the X last night and I hear these little kids say

Kid 1: What happened to Lou Nannie?
Kid 2: I think he died

note these kids were no older than 6-7, i had a good chuckle out of it.

I think that's correct. The day Lou is done announcing the station is going to be in real trouble.

It's funny how this topic has taken on a life of its own.
