I just think everyone always overlooks er now cause peolpe always have that bitterness about how the play the game.

Elk River may play the ugliest hockey I have seen. That has been going on since Sarsland took the reigns. Give them credit, they make it work.

After seeing them the past 2 years they have some work to do if they want it in March. They have alot of time which is good.

I thought TAFT looked great as well, but he needs to learn how to get his shot off. To many times he didnt even get a shot off after a nice move. Moves mean nothing if you can't load the puck and shoot it.

Edina has good talent, but I don't think they are about any of the top 5.

From what I saw in the Tribune today, it appeared that Mr. Taft was being introduced to the seat of his pants by an EP player .......... ouch!

Elk River plays a style that will play tight with any good team, but they will practically never win because all they do is dump and chase. By the third period they always seem tired and that is when the good teams bury them. They have great goaltending and will continue to in the future. As of now they belong in the 17-20 range as far as rankings go.

Nice hit by Leddy. Taft will learn that you don't try to dangle Leddy without getting nailed. Had to be there to see it but Taft never went down and kept his balance. Leddy then had the puck skating out of the corner and Taft, looking for some payback, went hard for the hit. Leddy ducked under the hit and another lesson learned by Taft. Surprised that Taft caught Leddy skating up the boards in the 3rd but it was too little too late. Should be fun to watch Leddy with the Gophers next year.

Ok, I'll take you up on that bet. Let me know when they beat two top ten teams this year. I'm not trying to bash ER, they don't deserved to be... as they are a very hard working team and are coached well. But, in the end, talent is needed to win against top ten teams, and they just don't have it this year.

Tony Sarsland & Jacques Lemaire are one in the same. The coaching/programs they run are identical. To a T.

I would disagree with the "...they will practically never win" part of your statement. Take a look at T-Sars' career record. I don't have it off hand, but it's impressive.

Sarsland has over 475 wins in his High School coaching career. More than any active coach today. I think he knows how to win.

I could very easily be wrong here, but if I recall correctly, is he not the 2nd most winning coach of all time in this state?

I don't know where to go to research the topic...I suppose I can go dig around on google.

Edit: Well, I just found an article where he notched his 500th win. On January 26th of 2006.

http://www.erstarnews.com/2006/January/ ... ksars.html

So he's well up over 500 by now.

Anyone know where to find these coaching records?
