It's not only stupid - it's just bad sportsmanship. There's no need to run up the score in regions. I bet everyone reading this is happy EP didn't get the shut out. Good for St. Paul Como!! EP - you should be ashamed of yourselves.

And E.P. is so righteous that they should be allowed to score 19 goals?

Come on play all your 3rd liners a lot and set a pass limit before you can shoot, It's not that difficult, coach should have cut them off around 10.

But they could of done that. But i mean a kid cant just not shoot all alone in front of the net. And the coach cant tell the kids to just stop trying. Como is just that bad

19-1

Post by O-townClown »

I know it doesn't look good that Eden Prairie scored that many goals, but a friend watched a similar mismatch this season and told me the coach called off the dogs and had the kids working the puck around.

After a couple shifts he told the kids just to play normal because it was obvious that it was more embarrassing to not move up ice and toward the net.

Games like this will stop happening when Minnesota Hockey does something different with how you reach state, which isn't happening any time soon. The District 6 playoffs were cutthroat for PW and Bantam and in other parts of the state mediocre and even bad teams fight it out for the right to get anihilated.

When I was in Bantam we went to a tournament for B teams from District 5 and 6. There was no state. The second best D5 team behind Minnetonka was Minnetonka's B2 or C team or something. D5 was real weak.

We beat them 16-4. I think our line had 9 of them and some guys had as many as 7 or 8 points. It was a joke. 19-1 is even more one-sided. But how do you prevent it? Send three kids out instead of five? Play "full-court zone" or split the kids up and tell them they can't cross the redline like old Iowa HS girls basketball? There's no good answer.

A question worth asking is how can these associations field such poor teams? There's a rink in Como, right?
Be kind. Rewind.

yes i totally agree with you. These bad teams just dont desere to be here. These games are avoidable. But ya i think it would be more embarassing if they sent out like 3 players or would not shoot the puck on net

Your kidding me right? You are getting on EP for Mn Hockeys mistake? D1 and D4 and some Northern districts shouldn't get 3 spots in the regionals. All that EP did was prove they don't belong in the playoffs.
I was going to add some stats but it was so unreal I couldn't do it.

BUNCH OF TREE HUGGERS

Post by Fire and Ice »

St Cloud beats Andover by 19 and you cry. The #1 team in the state beats a team that doesn't belong in regions at all by 18 and you say show some class? D 1 should be ashamed OF THEMSELVES this is regions and it matters how your team is playing. GO HUG A TREE

HAVE YOUR SON TAKE UP FINGER PAINTING IF DON'T WANT HIS FEELINGS HURT.

CONGRATULATIONS EP FOR DOING THE RIGHT THING AND PLAYING YOUR GAME WE ALL NOW WHAT YOU ARE CAPABLE OF.

You just don't know how to spell "know."

It's now official. Eden Prairie has replaced Edina for the most classless fans in the state.

Oh, right, because Edina's fans are sooooo brutal. Yeah, don't take note of any other fans that do classless things, just let it fly! Nice!

Excuse me, but there is a thread discussing blow-outs and holding the horses at bay. Or start a new one.

Please stay on topic.

Edina 6
Faribault 0

How ironic if Burnsville could suck it up and beat EP and they'd be on the outside looking in. There are many people who would enjoy that immensely. Go Blaze!
