We tried that a couple years ago when we went down for a Ron White concert...outstanding.
I've heard about the new place at the Edge but we haven't been there yet. I suppose we should considering it's only three miles from where we live, eh?

Any metro area folk ever go to, or bring your kids to Circus Circus? Where "food, fun and games" was what they offered? Not to mention the electronic music show. They had a few locations around the Twin Cities, but were all bought out by Chuck E Cheese.
Or in the 80's, I believe the same Circus venues were called Showbiz Pizza.
Regardless, if anyone ever had the experience I think they'd agree their pizza was BOMB. I wish they were still around.

I don't think I ever spent more than abou 5 seconds nibbling on pizza when I went to Circus... that place was great. They used to give you a bunch of game tokens if you brought in your report card and got good grades. I was always so embarrassed, but I got over it quickly as I plunked them into RBI Baseball, Punch Out, and Dragon's Lair. I was a terror on the bumper cars too.
Like I say... I have no recollection of the pizza!

I like Punch ok, but its different. Little sauce and lots of fresh basil, the true Italian way. Heres a tip for you bored people... Never order spaghetti in Italy. Give me the "American" Italian anyday. Northern Italy (white sauces) are to die for though...

It is certainly different (Punch) and on the pricey side for a personal size pizza. It is a nice alternative though, and you really can't argue with a stone-fire cooked pizza.

a little place called grandpa tony's can really make a great pizza, and also theres a place called totinos. not the little red box pizzas, but a restaraunt called totinos.

I tried a new one in Hermantown yesterday and thought it was pretty good. It's called Do North Pizzeria. It is the same family that owned Cudda's Pizza in Two Harbors.

I'd normally leave the cafe for you boys, but I was just at a tournament at Johnson and had to drive right by Romolo's which leads me to ask, how could an eastsider leave off Romolo's?? way to much cheese and grease but isn't that the point?
also, try the Red's on White Bear, you avoid that strange parking lot and you don't have to worry about anyone crashing through the front door

Rom's has good pizza, but to me, they have the best spaghetti in the Twin Cities - that's what I always get. I still work my way over there from Wayzata about once a month. It was almost daily when I was still in school... it's a huge Governor & police hangout... save the jokes.
Yarusso's has the best lasagna anywhere. They give you about a 5 lb. piece for about $5 with a salad. You send somebody from - oh, I don't know, Circle Pines, Rogers - you know places like that - and they don't know what they've stepped into. The place has been untouched for about the last 50 years. Looks like a cross between a Rat Pack hangout and a fish house. It's outstanding. Eastside all the way.
Is that Savoy on White Bear an actual restaurant, or is it just take out? I know it used to be a Jiffy Lube or something.

I'm thinking a food channel special - we rent a coach bus, fill it with the proper beverages, fill it with the "bored" (remember which side to sit on and keep the aisle clear) and we take a pizza tour to come up with the "bored's" version of the best of MN. We do Pizza first and then just expand what we want to rate.
I hate waiting for these darn conference calls

well as a friend termed it - Tommy two-cheeks - so the later part of the moniker is a double entendre especially if I keep reading about this food.

I think you would fit in well in the Cafe - just tell the bouncer you are a friend of a friend of a friend of elliot's and wear some plaid.
It's cuz I'm an eastside gal. I still mourn Monda's pizza.
worst part about getting "rich" and moving to the suburbs, we didn't have pizza delivery
for four years at this house
Govs, I think you're right, I think the White Bear Red's is just takeout. Haven't been back since the big strike, now it'd be popular with Neut's group

if im in the city i like crosstown pizza. i think its close to the airport? now if you go out east you have to have Brunos pizza springfield ma....
