I didn't see the game Goldy, but are you saying that the refs just refused to talk to the coach? No warning, just bam, 2 minutes for asking for an explanation? Trying to picture it?........

Goldy pretty much got that game in a nutshell, and the ref told the coach three times that it was checking from behind and thats final... coach would not send his second guy to the box, ref said do it now or you'll get a bench minor, coach still didnt so the ref gave him a bench minor... stupid coach, good for the saints who took advantage

The Saints' coach Joe Law was at the Johnson game last night so I talked to him for about 15 minutes. Naturally, he didn't make much out of the delay of game call - thought it was warranted, and didn't make it out to be anything to unusual. He did say that they caught a break on their 1st goal though. I guess the Breck goalie made a save on a shot, but it bounced a couple feet up over his head, came down, rolled off his back and in. He also said he ran 2 lines about 80% of the time... once they had a sense that they had something going, he ran with it. He fully expects Breck's best game in a few weeks (I kind of laughed and gave him the "ya think?" look).

On a side note, I got a little explaination on Como Park and Johnson's denial into the Tri-Metro conference a few years back that I found kind of interesting. Evidently, when they initially applied, it was just a year or two after Como had gotten into a brawl that made it on the news (he said he thought it was against Cretin, but he wasn't sure, and I don't recall it at all - maybe somebody else knows), and some of the "other schools" in the conference were very leery about letting them in (he wouldn't say it, but I had a good guess about who he was referring to). He also mentioned that there were come issues with Como fans hanging on the glass over the penalty boxes during the Rice St. Cup against the Saints - although he had no problem with it. He's also a little concerned about what will happen to the Rice St. Cup - thinks it may take some of the lustre off of it since both the Saints and Como will play each other in conference twice a year anyway, but that wasn't a factor in them being denied.

chiefofmedicine is right. breck looked past the saints and got what they deserved. i do think however that even though breck will be playing there best game in a few weeks, the saints will be ready for them.

has blake had any bad losses this year?

mch, you are correct. It was against CDH and the injured player was Cullem Beutow Staples. It was right off the opening faceoff of the game.
