Let's get the pronounciations corrected as well. I don't know if I've ever heard such a butcher of names of visiting players. How hard is it to pronounce Kosak? Give him credit though- he did a good job with Rendals first name- "Sam"

The worst was the Moorhead vs Roseau game warlier this week. During 2 breaks in the game they played some God awfull R&B Soul music, everyone was laughing and wondering wht the hell they were thinking.

since when did hockey games become a ROCK concert, some of these arenas should be turn over to OSHA for being to loud, good god give it a break, let the game be the highlite and turn the CRAP off

Hog Man you got me there. And to think I was almost always the last man standing in the 8th grade spell downs. RENDLE it is!!

I went to watch Buffalo beat on STMA this evening and the National Anthem was played Jimmy Hendrix style by a kid from STMA HS. During warm-ups and between periods, instead of a pep band these 3 kids (guitar, bass, drums) just rocked out on all these different jams. And thankfully there was no music played during breaks in the action.

Was a nice break from all the bad music you hear at arena's

Speaking of bad music at games I was at the Tonka game tonight vs Rosemount and Tonka had the worst entrance music ever haha! they played it everytime they took the ice so it obviously was choosen my the team/team manager! Maybe its just me but when i was playing i didnt want to take the ice to some fruity techno no sense! Come on I expected better

A while back arenas were playing the oompa-loompa song. That was bad.

You guys need to realize that not everyone that goes to a hockey game is as well rounded in hockey as most of the people on this message board. Some people go for the entertainment factor, or to watch one person. When that person is not on the ice or there is nothing going on they need something to do. Look at pro games they have music to get the crowd going and I don't hear anyone complaining about that.

I am too, i go to watch the event ,that is what the ticket says, if i go to a Bon Jovi concert i dont expect to see a hockey game, do I ,, BAN The music

Now most of the people saying there should be no music are probably parents, and I can agree with you on a few things. One being too loud and the other, playing crummy rap/hip-hop music.

For warm ups our team has a good mix of Classic Rock for the first song ( Motely Crue - Kickstart my heart). A little newer and more heavy for the next song ( Collective Soul - Heavy ). And to finsh off warm ups a face melter ( Disturbed - Decadence ) After warm ups there is some softer alternative stuff.

Inbetween Face-offs and intermissions there is a wide variety of songs that could be played, because we use an ipod (30gb) which holds way more songs than needed. It is played at a tolerable level so that the fans aren't offended.

I bet if you wen to one of our games and heard the music you would be satisfied. With my new rock, and my fathers classic rock.

I find that when I am warming up at an oppenents rink, and they have no warm up music, it is very hard to get pysched up. I don't know about you, but when you people work out ( if you do ) i need music to motivate, same as in hockey. If you don't like the music, put on some ear plugs. Your not the ones playing, we are.

That sounds like a simple solution then Neutron... dont go if its so terrible. Nobody is forcing you to drive to the rink, pay $5 and listen to it. After all, arent you there to watch the game? It's their experience that matters most, not the experience you have at the game...

What ever happened to school bands? That's what makes high school games unique.

i got out to the stillwater vs mounds view game at stillwater just last week. Following one of the periods, mounds view was on the ice first waiting for stillwater to return. Apparently, someone wasn't aware of what CD must have been in the player because the music was the chipmunks christmas song- likely from the figure skating event before the games. It was actually to the point I began laughing out loud at mounds view skating around listening to possibly the worst song ever. classic Suburban East....

I think it's funny this topic came up! While I was at Fogarty arena last year for a Blaine hockey game, I was wondering if the play list had never changed since I went to the games when I was in high school. It was all still 80's music. Except they don't play "Eye of the Tiger" when the players come on the ice as they did when I was there. They must have worn that one out!

Check the big bold out.....they've been playing hockey for over 100 years in this state; the music started in the locker rooms in the mid to late 70's and spilled into the rink after the pros did it to entertain fans. People go to HS hockey games to watch hockey that's the entertainment not the between whistle rock concerts. Get it straight guys...we come and pay to WATCH YOU GUYS PLAY THE GAME. Do you players REALLY need the music to get up for playing the game, if so, your sadly lacking mental toughness. Tell me are you going to have to jam all day long at your future profession just to get up for it.

Admission isnt what I was referring to. If it wasn't for parents and taxpayers, there wouldn't be high school hockey. For spoiled brats to say we don't matter is more than a little short sighted.

It's a not a matter of "rooting" for a team... it's my alma-matter for cripes sake, why would I turn on them to pull for a front runner? My kids will go to Wayzata, so I'll have have the Trojans in my back seat, but I'll always ride with Govs regardless.

The state of hockey on the Eastside is what it is, and with the economics of the area, it's probably not going to change.... but neither am I. Why should I?
