2-2 final.
Penalties were even.
Shots 37-31
Only time HF could mount pressure was on the PP as can be seen with their two PP goals. Even strength play was dominated by SCC, IMO. I like the way Erickson plays. Hard and clean from what I saw tonight.
SCC had a couple of chances with about a minute left in OT to score goals but Smothers stood on his head. Both Tenders played really well tonight ,especially Smothers. He saw few more quality shots than Hess. Smothers made some nuts saves in OT it was pretty crazy.

Goldy,
Ya got nothing to say now?
I'm not sure, just curious, are you saying that Cathedral was the dominant team? Because HF only scored on the power play? No tone, just curious. Two teams that could stir up heat in the sections. HF is no doubt good, be pretty inconsistent. They just tied the team who beat the team that got 2nd last year, but they have losses a team who wants to compete shouldn't have.

Wow.
Cathedral is not the same team as they were with Durant and Schmitt. If they were still playing, this game would not have been close. Take two of the top players from any team out of the lineup at the same time and see how many will struggle.
Woulda - coulda - shoulda No team can use the fact that they are missing two players as an excuse. Especially as long as they have been out. AND there is no guarantee one or the other or both will be back before section playoffs.
No, I didn't see the game. However, this is now the time for teams to decide if they're going to mount a challenge to their section rivals, or go down in a pile of excuses. CHS must either step up and win games like this, or plan on an early departure come playoff time.
Kudos to the Fire for stepping up and tying a team that beat them earlier. It sounds like it was a good game, and if HF needed to score on the PP to have a chance, then CHS shouldn't have given them that chance. Penalties seem to haunt these boys... best to try to fix that problem.. 'ya think?

I'd probably for sure agree with you if I knew more about the situation. And I don't know how long they've been out or what positions they played. Having Guggs back at Richfield will change the team, regardless of what anyone says. So, if they were out for a long time, then they weren't there to play HF the first time. Were they there to play Duluth Marshall? And if they were or were not and won't be back, what does it matter? It's excuses when it comes down to it.

Schmidt played in the game vs. DM, Durant did not. Neither played in the game at Holy Family. This team just needs a spark and I think they'll be back on track. Maybe Durant will be that spark, maybe he won't. They have definitely gone away from the physical game since those two have been out and that has hurt them a little bit

It was a great game by both teams.
SCC seemed to be in control of the game but still HF had there oppurtunites just not as much as SCC did. HF's powerplay was lethal. And did anyone see Smothers glove save in OT. Best save I have seen all year, he is a good goalie.
First period
SCC 1
HF 0
1st scc scored early and came out with alot of momentum
2nd
SCC 2
HF 2
HF came out flying and wow did they show they can score on the powerplay.
3rD OT
SCC 2
HF 2
Pretty even except SCC had alot more oppurtunities in OT but Smothers came up huge.
