ok...final guess at seedings...

1-3 are Breck, Blake, and Mound in any order. None are completely worthy of a #1 seed.

4-5 will end up being Providence and Holy Family. Once again no particular order.

6 Orono
7 Delano
8 St. Louis Park
9 STMA
10 Richfield

Breck basically dominated the game, and as everyone has said, Breck has two sides. In this game the team that could make waves in the playoffs showed up...

How will this affect the seedings? Any Thoughts?
I was at this game and personally I thought it was a very evenly matched game and maybe even controlled more by Blake. I'm not saying shots have anything to do with dominating but Blake outshot Breck around 33-22 or something like that and unless something happened in the last minute of the game after I left I think it was a very evenly matched game and I would love to see another in playoffs.

Is that your prediction? Or can I publish those? I am assuming that you have a tie into the meeting today.

So anyone can pick the seedings. How about the tourney!

Richfield/STP SLP
Delano/STMA Delano

Holy Family/Providence Providence
Mound/Orono Mound
Breck/Delano Breck
Blake/SLP Blake

Semi finals

Blake/Prov party ends here for Prov
Mound/Breck Mound

Finals

Holy Family is playing the best and most consistent of any team in this section right now. They will NOT lose to Providence.

I'll believe it when I see it. Its easy to play consistent hockey when your playing weak competition. They have a good record, but they will be tested this week at a level they are not familiar with. In my book, they have the least chance of the top six to advance. I'm sticking with either Blake or Breck to advance because they have the most talent.

I have a different take -

Delano will beat Breck. All Delano needs to do is play physical with this team - they will implode.

Mound / Orono is a toss up -

Birkholz played his usual great game, although he came up short on three breakaways, and he wasn't happy. The player who shined the most and has for the past 3 weeks was the Breck Goalie John Russell. For Breck all three lines played well, with Fulton/Rehkamp creating the most opportunities. The key to beating Blake is to shut down the Birkholz line, not easily done, but they don't have enough scorers on the other two lines to make up the difference.

As for Delano beating Breck, I highly doubt it. Breck has been playing very well as of late, they have two much talent and aren't going to lose a first round game as they did last year. Beside, Delano may not even make it past STMA!

I can assure you that Delano will beat STMA.

If Delano plays physical with Breck this will affect this game to Delano's advantage.

Upsets?

Orono over Mound is the only upset I see in Quarters.
If Blake takes S.L.PARK/Richfield winner lightly they could get bumped, but unlikely.

Orono will pullit together to take Mound. I say 6-4 Orono with an EN in a heated fast paced game. Lots of people in the stands for this rivalry.

i kinda agree with u branches...if delano does beat stma assuming they will.. if they play physical against breck i think they could pull the upset they did beat scc earlier in the year and they did hang with hopkins playing that style of hockey but there going to have to play one hell of a game to beat breck

Sorry Top and March, but St. Thomas, Cretin and Wayzata all tried the physical thing with the Mustangs and they all ended up with a loss. And Delano is no St.Thomas, Cretin or Wayzata. Delano has a better chance of losing to STMA than the do of upsetting Breck!

Ouch! No doubt anyone can pull off an upset, but an upset it would be. And if it would be an upset, then it's unlikely that it would happen, which means that Delano probably loses to Breck...if they don't get upset by STMA.
