Hill-Murray ruins high school hockey and all the east metro programs

Well said
Fact. 95% of the cheering at the x not for the opposing team to win - but for Hill to lose.

Westie and Furne from Tartan not former private schoolers
Were top players for every pre Hill team played on for the Titans
Surprising how Hill could only find a way to win once against Tartan in the last 4 games. Now that's adversity.

First of all that is what you do to a young inexperienced goalie, you crash the net to keep his head off saving the puck. Wilson is a very talented and well positioned player. He is an experienced leader who scores goals in big games. You obviously were not at the last few games Stillwater played. Wilson scored key goals and he is not afraid to throw his weight around.

young mr. wilson has been in exactly one big high school hockey game in his entire life... it was last night.... and he lost...go back to the drawing board.

Funny how Tartan gets brought into yet another Hill Murray thread. Let's have some fun.

Thor, How Bout Those Titans? I laughed so damn hard during that Johnson game (you remember, that big powerful #1 seed vs the #8). The butt cheeks in the stands kept getting tighter & tighter for Tartan fans as the game went on, then boom, season over. It was hilarious. Tartan is the new "Not Ready for Primetime Players." Same story as last year, you Tartan people get all excited about beating Hill during the season & actually think you are a decent club. Haven't you realized yet, that programs are judged by what happens in sections? You lost to a #8 seed!!!! How in the world can you even feel comfortable taking shots at Hill? It must have bugged the heck out of ya seeing Hill advance round after round and once again, return to State with all these young kids. I'm sure you actually dreamed of seeing Tartan skating in St. Paul, but then, the puck is dropped and the 8th seeded Govs, fresh off their playin game, ends your dream. Ya can't make this stuff up!

I feel for ya. It must be difficult disliking a program like Hill. Year after year you hope to see them fall, yet, they always seem to find a way to play in the Show. Hey, there's always next year right? Tartan is loading up with their big/bad Bantam team & dammit, they are gonna beat Hill Murray. Mark my words, Tartan will never, I repeat, never go to state from a section that includes, HM, WB, Roseville, and Stillwater (sorry, didn't mean to leave out Johnson  ). Your best best is to beg the high school league to move you ya out again & get away from the powerhouses.

Now back to the topic of this thread...HM/Still. Hill won another section title.

pucker15 wrote:how is tyring to injur the goalie after the whistle WAY better class then hill. wilson is a god awful hockey player and probably the least talented on the team he purposlet tried to run timmy then played it off like he wasnt trying anything... an how he is assistant captain i will never know  . and coach housley doesnt have so much class either because i had heard from some friends on the hill team that phil had said something to david bruchu going through the line that can't be repeated on this forum. ya thats WAY better class

It didn't appear to me that Wilson was trying to injure Shaugnessy. He ran into him after the whistle, that happens fairly often. Shaugnessy is not a big kid at all and could easily have been shaken up. It seems to me that too much is being made of this "incident".

I have heard from one of the MSHSL officials who was on the ice to handle the award presentation that Phil Housley did intend utter an obscenity to Bruchu, who is from the Stillwater area, as they went through the handshake line. Housley reportedly said to him, "f*** you, bruchu". If this is true, there should definitely be some disciplinary action taken. There is no excuse for an adult coach to speak to an opposing player in those words. If Housley did indeed say what it is reported he said, that is muchmore serious, at least in my mind, then some kids deciding to play for a private high school or any uncalled penalties which occurred during the game.

none of the stillwater kids.
actually 3 of the stillwater kids but that is beside the point. They play in the Stillwater association their whole life, they grow up wearing Stillwater pony uniforms. So maybe you should put that in your "grand scheme of things."
Yes, I would like to see the kids in my association play hockey together through High School, but its not going to happen. There are many kids on my sons teams that go to parochial grade schools - most ofthe kids will go public, but a few will ship off to the parochial high schools- it's their choice. The public high school has nothing to do with the youth hockey association, except that it is the public school within the district. It just so happens there also is a Parochial High school in the east metro called Hill Murray, and some to choose to go there plain, and simple.

How can I be a bigot if I myself am Catholic? Transferring schools ins't the issue with me. Don't come on here and act like it's some form of miracle that Hill is where they are. They have some good players, mean while Stillwater was starting a Freshman and Sophmore all season at defense. Some on here are taking offense to Housley's collision with Shaunessy, yet don't see anything wrong with the punch to the side of the head of the Stillwater goalie as a big deal or how about the fact that our #1 defensemen was unable to play after he was slashed by a Hill player? But my gosh the Hill goalie takes a little contact and it's the end of the world, he used as much time as they would give him, a very smart move but he continued to play, Stillwaters D didn't.

Call it like it is and IT WAS A GREAT GAME BY BOTH TEAMS.

So drop all this he said she said and leave it unless you are Bruchu and proof of what was siad DON"T MAKE STUFF UP!

stpaul wrote:"pathetic and gutless"...what an idiot. The puck was frozen, the whistle blew and play was stopped - then one Stillwater player skated behind Shaughnessy through the crease bumping him & the 2nd ran him down.

However it all ended looking like this:

Yeah, he's rolled some heads and has popped some ego's - it NEEDED to be done in Stillwater... people didn't stick around and complained and blamed etc so they started looking for other alternatives. They needed an excuse to leave, a scapegoat, and Housley has had to deal with all the whiners and complainers.... wah, wah, wah.. suck it up people.... oh and everyone loved Herb Brooks too right? YEAH, Housley IS in the same category.... he's tough, he's competitive, he says it like it is... deal with it. If you can't take it, then go to Hill... The fruits of his and his coaching staff's labor are coming forth... I can't wait for Stillwater to mame Hill next year
So you are admitting that Hill-Murray does NOT recruit, instead they take in the cast aways from other programs that feel their programs can do better with out them. Good to know someone finally realized what's really going on. I was getting tired of reading all of the posts from the haters out there.
It would be good to do a little comparison shopping by seeing what public school transfers there are. (They studiously refuse to do this of course.) However, many anti-privates, even if there be a combination no transfer/no recruiting rule, still end up hating them.
