I wish we could say that. Somehow the Vikes squeaked one out.

What a crazy game, it was actually a fun game too watch. :D Far better than the game on TBS.

Just because they won doesnt mean Chilly deserves any credit. He is a terrible coach period.

I have never seen a coach as bad as he is with timeouts and clock management.

Gus is a gamer, he saved Chilly for now.

I would say the Saints lost it more than the Vikings won it.

It was a bad win for Viking fans.

We will now be treated to more of the same.

Chilly does not have a clue.

Maybe he will study the film and see how NO uses Bush and get some ideas on how to spring AP............naaaah.

But hey, lets kick another one to Reggie and see if he can return it for a TD.

C'mon pb give the players some credit.
They could of easily rolled over in the 4th quarter and quit.

Chilly will be gone soon enough.

If Ziggy had a set, he would fire him today. Even after a win.

I dont care if it was lucky and ugly. Thats part of sports. Successful teams always have their share of luck and know how to win ugly. The Vikings who had regular season success in the late 60s and 70s used to have a lot of wins like last night.

Its a bad win to the extent it keeps things status quo long term for the franchise.

Yes, and I especially appreciated the performance of the players on the kick return teams.

But you are right. The D played very well in the second half and the Offense did enough to win it.

They won in spite of Chilly.

BTW, the quality of play over on TBS was much better.

It was another awful game.....Our secondary is just brutal...yeah Winfield had a good game but not as far as pass coverage, cripes these dbacks just frustrate ya to no end....I mean 3rd and 17 ...yep they give up 20 and the 1st down, and they do it over and over it's the same old thing.
If it weren't for Leber and Greenway it would have been way worse.

Nice job Vikes another record against ya 2 punt returns in one game...ya gotta be kiddin me!

So now Ziggy you can take Chilly, Cook, and the special teams coach too! and give em all the boot!

I found myself in a relatively calm mood watching and knowing that they would blow the 10 point lead in the 2nd 1/2 again.... but thanks to the Saints and the refs we got away with this one.

Oh yeah and if Gus is such a gamer convert a friggin 3rd down a couple times a game would ya.

The Vikes have become a alternate choice of what to do on Sundays. :?

3rd and 16 late in the 4th quarter. Gus "The Gamer" throws a 33 yard touchdown.
The other one was a pass interference, does that count?

Gus is proof of what a lot of us have said which is you can win with a mediocre QB if you can run the ball and play D.

Applying that to TJack however was not accurate.

Gus made enough plays last night to win it.

Brees made many more plays but not enough to overcome turnovers and blocked FG for a TD.

BTW, is the Vikings O line over rated or what? The QB was molested and AP had nothin.

That was a blown pass route that turned into a lucky play!
But for arguments sake ok ........so that's one.
They were 5-15 on 3rd down

Here's the plan for the rest of the season...

The NFC North sucks, so sneak into the playoffs (preferably back in) with a 9-7 or 8-8 record, just to hold interest in town until the legislative session starts.

Once they take their first round loss, quickly fire Childress and throw a bundle of cash at Bill Cowher to keep the momentum moving in their favor as the session drags on and they beg for a stadium.

If your name is Zygi, that's how you play it. Don't fire Childress now... hope that he can provide at least the bare minimum of what he was expcted to provide this season (a playoff spot), then sacrifice him for the bigger picture.

Usually, firing a football coach in the middle of the season is not a good idea.

Childress will be given the opportunity to make the playoffs.

When he doesnt, he will be gone.

This guy is as bad as I have seen. He makes Tice look like Bill Walsh.

It looks like a real mess out there and if it aint, it'll do until the mess gets here.

I cant see him leading a team to the playoffs unless 8-8/9-7 would do it.

Drew Stanton might get the start at QB for the Lions - could get ugly early. Both teams have been very brutal to watch this year. The Vikes are 13.5 point favorites. I'll take Detroit and the points...

After the Vikings win agaist Detroit and Chicago the next two weeks, they will be in 1st place.

But not because of Chilly. He is still the worst coach ever.
