All right , well here is one even ole flannel shirt will be able to appreciate.
So, I am driving to work this AM and I turn on KFAN. (I know, my first mistake).
I dont like the AM show because all they talk about are the Vikings but I thought I might catch some high school footbal coverage.
Well, they actually did have the scores and when they got to the CDH vs Brainerd game they said "Yah, Cretin won 56-14 but Brainerd should really be proud because they had a great run and they just got beat by a bigger and better school"
That was it. No mention of how well CDH played(they really did). The CDH QB threw for 6 TDs but nothin about that.
First, CDH is a school of about 1400 and Brainerd about 2000.
Second, when did it become mandatory to heap praise on the loser and dismiss the accomplishments of the winner because of some imaginary advantage (bigger) they had. CDH opts up in football and I think are the only school to do so.
Brainerd got their butts kicked by a superior opponent. Plain and simple. There is no disgrace in that. The Brainerd kids know that. They knew what they were up against. They have tapes of the games.
America used to love a winner. When did that change?
Now days........"Its Like a Nightmare"

This is from that nimrod high school reporter from the Red Star John Milea:
"The Raiders, having the advantage of proximity, arrived at 7:10 in full uniforms. They had been over at nearby Augsburg College, warming up on the Auggies' bubble-encased football field. And all this time, the Warriors had been sitting in the University of Minnesota locker room. Driving 135 miles was bad enough; now they were being subjected to Gophers vibes. No fair" (emphasis added by PB)
So, Didn't they tell the Brainerd coaches where they would be playing until that morning?
Ill tell yah................."It's Like a Nightmare"
This just in.
Juice Williams has just rattled off another 19 yard gain
and
Brett Favre has just thrown another TD pass.
It had to be a shuttle pass. That is now the absolute new unstoppable play in football. Cant stop it. No way.
(inadvertent submit)
That shuttle pass to Defensive coordinators...."It's like a Nightmare"

The nightmare is watching the talent from CDH go to another Big Ten team such as Wisconsin or Purdue... The nightmare is watching CDH take players from other HS's around your area, yours in particular, and dominate a smaller class just bcuz of the amount of kids in it... What class are they...?

Just like I said!
Well newsguy, the senior QB and running back from CDH are committed to the U so you need to keep current. CDH plays at the highest level so what are you talking about? Try and keep up.newsguy35 wrote:

They also lost a WR after last season that was looking at hte U but never was approached. They play at the highest level? Who do they play during the regular season and for preseason scrimmages? I might be lost, I dont feel I am tho... Also, please check their roster in the past 3 seasons and look at where their top talents went. Not the U! Just because they got 2 from that team (the RB committed last season) doesnt mean that they are recruiting the best of the best... Also, how many of those players for CDH actually lived within 15 miles of the school? Maybe we should just put together a private school (or recruiting schools) division.packerboy wrote:Well newsguy, the senior QB and running back from CDH are committed to the U so you need to keep current. Ah newsguy, maybe you havent noticed but the top talent from the big suburbs isnt going to the U either.
If they were , the Gopher program might not be as bad as it is. I mean right now " Its's Like a Nightmare"
I went to the Badger game on Saturday at the dome and then scurried over to Mariucci to catch the powerhouse Seawolves.
So, what was my sports Saturday like? I'll give you a hint. I sat between these 2 guys at both games:

I've got slapshooter shooting machine guns at me and Neutron 14 making fun of me for feeling like I am picked on.
Its tough and especially for a sensitive guy like myself.
Picked on? Shot at? Hardly. I feel more like this:

Yup, thats right. Nailed To The Cross
