Thats great Sparlimb but here is what I think:

When some loud bragger tries to put me down and says his school is great, I tell him right away "Now whatsamatta buddy aint yah heard of my school..its #1 in the state.... " So be true to your school. Let your colors fly......

BTW Mr Sparlimb, Why werent you at the Liffey?

Well put Sparlimb..

I think we all like to support "our" team, for whatever reason.

I've alway respected the HM program, as I have Roseau's.
Now that CDH is coming on, they are a great team to watch.

In fact, high school hockey in Minnesota is great to watch.

So, I suggest we just stop this thread and just agree on that.

Here's to Minnesota High School Hockey Image

I was there with my wife, we were stuck by the outside door. I did two walkthroughs and somehow missed you all. So I guess it will have to wait until next year...

Although it is true that the Catholics werent allowed to play until '75, metro teams were just catching up to the Northern teams by then anyway. The old Catholic teams were great but if the truth be told , they probably couldn't have beat the teams from up north either. Johnson was the only non northern team to win it until Edina in 1969.

The 2 best programs all time are Roseau and Edina and everybody else can forget about it.

HockeyFan1, We are glad that you are proud to play wherever you play. But you and others need to understand that the kids that play for Catholic schools are just as proud.

Ask the kids from CDH who won it in 06. I gurantee you they are just as proud of playing for CDH as you are playing for your school as the kids form Roseau are and so on.
Not sure if you can put Edina any higher than Eveleth, International Falls or Jefferson for that matter. Edina may have more titles, but Jefferson is undefeated in championship games, has an undefeated team which very well could be the best ever. And since we can't discount history, we have to remember those northern teams that have been so great. Roseau may very well be the best, although Grand Rapids is not far behind.

It would definitely be Roseau
32 state appearances and section championships (both records)
10 section final shut out games
7 state titles(tied for most)
5 runner ups
3 third place
5 consolation championships
52 wins (record)
2 players and 1 coach in the U.S hockey hall of fame
7 played in the Olympics
9 with NHL experience
42 game winning streak
Hard to be better than a dynasty like that

With Edina east's and west's we have 10 championships, most state appearances, and other stuff to. I don't think Roseau, or anyone else can compete with that.

I don't really think privates should count, because they don't really 'grow' their own players in Squirts/Peewees/Bantams, they just recruit them.

He he... the Edina High School Boys Program grows squirts and peewees?

Maybe we shouldn't include programs that have all-time losing records against Hill-Murray!

Edinagoalie0,

your school split up and u cant say u got the most titles cuz one has 7 and the other has 3 and they are not the same school and second edina does not have the most state appearances roseau does, if u really need to know the real records of what roseau has go onto the website and click on history

I'm not sure anybody would know what "scotch goggles" are. I figured the HM crowd would identify with "beer goggles".

5 straight trips to the Civic Center 4 of those to the final and back to back Champions. Combined with 3 other appearances i would guess that makes them one of the best all time with guys like Scott Bloom, Mark Osiecki, Matt Larson, Don Granato, Kevin Gorg, Mike Luckraft, Steve Ferrera, Todd Okerlund, Tyler Barnes, and many more im sure im forgetting. Im going top 5 for sure.
