if they would have had festler, they would have been undefeated state champions.

live with that little boys
Not if St Thomas still had Anders Lee, Aaron Crandall, and Jordan Schroeder.

They would have whooped Little Falls up and down the ice, and they, my "friend" would have been undefeated State Champions.

Live with that Little Falls.
not if little falls had aaron ness, nick thielen, marion gaborik and drew olson.

they would have kept edina, st. thomas and any other team in their respective defensive zones all night, knocking them silly.

live with that you little cake eaters who graduate 19 year old seniors that aren't even from the towns that they play for.

Then you live with the fact that your Little Falls Flyers will never make it past the first round of the State Tournament.

Take your blinders off Little Falls. If you think you're so good move up to AA, and stop complaining when you make the tournament only to lose in the first round.

Have a good summer.

I thought the Little Falls coalition might be silenced after the first round loss.

Apparently that's just wishful thinking, they only get louder.

I was impressed with the Flyers. Their physical play seemed to disrupt West's flow. It's too bad Ricky wasn't 100% for his last game. how he had the strength to shoot in that goal is beyond me. That wrap off the boards that bounced right to the slot, setting up that second LF goal was a downer for the scarlets. Giving up 2 shorties is never helpful either. The flyers were the better team today. I'm glad that ref called a dive on LF, they were flopping all over the place. That kid who got "slashed" and put a show on laying on the ice should of got a diving penalty too. That was my only problem with LF, otherwise they were great. Very emotional game for west to see that core group of seniors play their final game together. Both teams gained the respect they deserved this week. Good luck to both these teams next year.

We'll take the players that grew up in our town and you take the ones that grew up in yours and then we'll play. Doesn't it bother you that the only people that like and defend St. Thomas are alums or current students of St. Thomas. It must suck to have everyone hate you.

Funny, because I didn't graduate from St Thomas, nor do I currently attend that school. So I guess another one of your "opinions" has been defeated.

Have a good summer.

I wouldn't bet on the outcome being different. I was at the game and LF had their way with Westy. If it wasn't for a couple of bad passes by Wesley Waytashek it could have been 6-1, easily.

You seem to do a lot of wishful thinking, Goldy  By the way it smelled like dead Gopher in Mariucci  I don't know if that's just the way it is or if its just the Gophers play this season stinking up the place

What are they supposed to do. Play the 3rd line the whole 3rd period. Dark Demon, all you have ever did is bash West. Give them some credit. They gave DM all they could handle. When they beat your beloved Flyers you can finally shut the hell up.
Looks like I will have to do demon's dirty work 8)

davey boy, when your up like Mankato West was and there is less then two minutes to go there should be no reason for the first liners to be in the game. Except for Leivermann to pad his stats and try to get on the all-tournament team. Which I'm glad to see he didn't because he didn't deserve it :!: By the way I wasn't impressed by Leivermann and Litchfield seeing them for the first time. IF they both go on and play for MSU its going to be a ruff couple years for the Mavericks :P

The only reason LF lost in 1st round this year was the fact that they drew the #1 seed (and eventual champion) two years consecutively. Ya, I know: Luck of the draw. I don't know if they'd beat Duluth Marshall but they would have beaten Warroad and Cathedral with the way they were playing. At worst, this team deserved third place.

Maybe some other people need to actually remove some blinders of their own.

Obviously, the Flyers should have been the #4 seed. Scores through the tourney proved it!!!!

West had a very nice team. I have not seen Litchfield play this year, so I am not sure of his style, but knowing he was injured I kept an eye on him and during the entire game he never got NEAR the boards or corner... I would assume that was self preservation. He and 11 play well together, their one goal was a very pretty passing play.

The first two goals were more a result of LF being sloppy with the puck in their own zone.

I will give you the dive on Hanowski, but the slash after the goal should have been a DQ... it was at least 1-2 seconds after the goal scored and the player was standing with his arms raised in celebration when he got the two handed whack.

The Scarlets were throwing their sticks and elbows around quite a bit during the game. I was disappointed to see the LF second line center (who was out for the game with a broken wrist from the Blake game) get in for the final 30 seconds of his senior year as a "tribute" and then start throwing punches.

Laird was just defending his teammates.

It was only fitting for him to finish his high school career in the penalty box

Ok obviously shins is a wuss cause if he'd get checked by three guys he'd grab his ankles and take it. Laird was simply defending himself. About my west bashing its gonna continue they have a few good players #11 and #14, cheap players like #2 this kid should have gotten a five and a game. Also their defensemen #20 and #21 were big kids but couldn't keep their feet under themselves, and looked stupid every time the Flyer forwards deked them. And the goaltender had a huge five hole. Sorry. Congratulations on a good season West.

P.S. the west home jerseys are some of the worst I've seen

HA.... all I said was I was disappointed. Just like I was disappointed to see his season end with a fight at state last year.

I must not have seen THREE guys hit him at once.. that had to very well choreographed. I know that was the last thing Zach was looking to get into.. these things must just follow him around. :D

Let me rephrase for effect: The reason they lose in the first round, in the last two years, was the unlucky draws they've had.

If you expected anything less than Laird returning in the last minute or so and causing chaos you dont know him or how he plays.. Thats the way he is and well he did the same thing last year.. ended the year DQ'd this year it was valiant and im pretty sure cooch might have orchestrated it.. seeing how west was playing throughout the game!

Good job this year Flyers! maybe a little respect gained this year.. but what i see so far theres still going to be oppostion.

What respect might have been earned on the ice (with the exeption of the "salute", which was classless) has been reduced by the cry-baby antics here on the forums.

IMHO, or course... :-({|=

The salute wasn't classless and I don't think anyone is going to take respect away from the LF players and team when none of them are on this site. I think not manning up and playing AA with a fellow small private school like BSM is classless. I thought STA was supposed to be filled with fearless men but I must be wrong. I'm also curious as to what crybaby antics you are talking about.

1) the salute was awesome. I hate STA and everyone was glad to see ben do that. It was my favorite cele of the tourney
2)West's Jersey's are awesome. LF's purple jerseys are G.A.
3)That's really funny that LF kid fractured his wrist trying to swing at a west kid. haha
4)If a kid gets hit by three players in a hockey game, his first reaction shouldn't be "i'm gonna get those guys back", it should be "Wow, how was i dumb enough to have the puck long enough to let 3 guys come to me and hit me. I should probably be better and move the puck a little sooner".
5) Little Falls WAS the 2nd or 3rd best team at state and it was a shame they DID lose in the first round
6) quit complaining about your crappy draw, cuz if you're a good enough team, you'll beat everyone and win state.
7) that kid DIDN'T get cheap shoted. He played the next shift and milked that whole injury. (Not that i'm saying it was a bad move on his part. It did draw a penalty).
8)both teams were "chippy" so don't even start with saying your LF team was perfect and clean. They're high school kids playing the last game of the year, obviously they'll be "chippy."
9)LF was the better team, but it's a shame #14 from west wasn't 100%, i'm not saying west woulda won, but it probably woulda been a much closer game. That one player 100% really makes a difference in that team. He anchors the PP, and with Leiverman, is as dynamic as ben and beau together.
10) Ben Hanowski was the best player on the ice, and i wish him good luck at SCSU. He'll be a great D1 hockey player

i'm sure my opinions are "dumb" or "wrong," cuz everyone out there is smarter than me, i'm sure.
