I'm sorry? Did I TELL anyone what to spend their money on?
Don't put words in my mouth, Goldy. And if you do, try to make some sense.

I'm sorry, I'll put it in terms that you might be able to understand. What makes you think that you are in a position to criticize people for what they spend their money on?

I am sick and tired of geeks arguing on internet message boards.

Just kidding, it's awesome and I always do it.

Every Wednesday and Saturday, $100 in powerballs.

Some may think that is crazy, but some may think it is fun.

I think buying pulltabs is d, u, m, b.
My wife loves it.

Everyone finds enjoyment in their own way.
Ain't it great!

How's this, bright eyes? "I pay taxes."
So, when you goofballs go broke by "chasing the dream", and wind up on the government dole, you are now spending money that was in MY pocket.
If you don't wind up there, great.......I have zero issues with you bumbling your savings away. If you do, that's absolutely my business.

Now then, what are you doing wasting time posting on this board? I believe there is still a SuperAmerica station open that has some scratch-offs available for purchase. Go feed the beast, Goldy.

if I buy a ticket i can lay in bed those last few minutes before I fall asleep and think of all the wonderful things I could do with the money, instead of thinking of the bills i should be paying and losing sleep. The next morning I get up and pay the bills, and there's almost always enough and so I am glad that I don't "need" to even check the numbers - hey the paper will let me know if there's a big winner. Than there's my husband who squeaks a little when he walks. He won't buy a ticket, but he's okay if I buy a ticket. Than he dreams of a chilled sheet of concrete in the backyard so all four "boys" can play from October to April....later he gathers up all of my old stubs and checks them for the little winners, and me, being a good wife, let him keep all of the $3 dollar winners. a match made in heaven and we ain't hurting anyone.

If you can show me someone who is receiving government assistance due to the money they spend on powerballs and scratch offs. I will agree with you. Until then.....

I'll finish the phrase.

I'm sick and tired of good posters who actually have something to offer getting banned while the mindless ones are allowed to stay because they follow the "rules".

You do understand that every state has gambling addiction services that are funded with your tax dollars, right? You do understand that admittance into one of these centers is "government assistance" then, right?

I am not the biggest fan of gambling and I dont like it when somebody spends 10 minutes in front of me in line picking out scratch games and powerball either.

But I do like the horses and playing some black jack once in a while.

I think it is a good way to have fun.

But tell me if you guys have had this experience: You are up north fishin and you walk into a casino to play some blackjack. You have had a good day on the water and you want to have some fun at night. If you lose you will eat at McDonalds , instead of a nice place.

So you sit at a table ready to roll and everybody is so boofin serious.

You look out at the people playing the slots and nobody is even smiling.

They arent having fun. There is something else going on. Then I go back and turn on the TV and there are commercials geared towards retirees that encourage them to gamble. Billboards too.

I dont know if its so great to have gambling.

MOST, sure.
ALL? Absolutely not.
And scratch-off/Powerball gambling is just an easy entry into much more hard core gambling.
