Hanging Up The Skates After High School

I just heard that Maddie Burke, Eden Prairie’s Graduating Goalie has decided to hang up her pads and not play Collegiate Hockey. The word I got was that she was offered two “Walk-On” D1 opportunities after her great performance at State this year. Supposedly she told her parents that she would rathe...

Why even give Ralph the time of day! He obviously is a high school kid trying to ruffle knowledgeable people's feathers. Leave him alone and he will go away............

I've watched quietly all year. I just have this to say. #21 is one of the best kids I know. It's truly sad that her good name is being trashed on here due to an unfortunate accidental situation. Horgen was in my prayers after what I saw happen. I hope she will make a complete recovery ASAP. But, th...

I think the guy to talk to is The Best 4th Liner who just posted the "2008 State Co-Champion" Thread.

Sounds like he's the guy right for the job! And would enjoy it!

Sounds like someone has come up with a competitor to the game "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon". (Look it up on-line if you don't know the game)

Couldn't have been drunk working that one all the way through! Kudos for the effort!

I am puzzled as to why Andrea Green didn't make all tournament. The EP fans were wondering the same thing and the way her absence from the award was explained was that the voting takes place around the end of the first period or beginning of the second period of the Championship game. They do it th...

Are you just trying to ruffle Gopher9's feathers?

Justice is amazing, but so is Burke. It would be a battle between the two.

Two unsung Goalie Hero's! Both overlooked by D1 for some strange reason. And all you can say is what were they thinking?

So what? Why exclude people for not wanting or needing to live in a certain area due to profession, desire, or priorities. It's the Star Tribune who names this team for the Twin Cities girls. No need to minimize it becasue you don't like it. Start a thread called the "All Northern Team" f...

"CIDIOT" 1.) A city dweller while visiting the country. Usually a bark sucking granola eating hippy wanabe, that left what little brain they did have in the city . 2.) A term that residents of The Hamptons on Long Island have for ill-behaved Manhattanites who visit their town during the su...

Or LPH actually does have a set criteria of how they go about picking a winner, and it isn't really flawed but they choose to not release the details on how it actually works. Their thinking may be if they did make their system public, their choice of the winner would only lead to more second guess...

It's a disgrace that Carpenter (and Burke) were not named to the 2008 Ms. Goalie top finalist! I am not sure if I would use the term “disgrace”... maybe shame would be more appropriate. If Carpenter and Burke had been named as finalists, then that would have meant that 2 of the current 5 finalists ...

This should be a great Playoff Season! It is anybody's year from this point forward other then maybe Section 1AA which seem to have some of the weaker teams represented. But as the famous line goes "Any team can beat any team on any given Sunday..." Should be fun to watch all the outcomes ...

Shouldn't come as too much a surprise as the Ms Hockey and Ms Goalie awards are voted on by college coaches. Are College Coaches truly the only ones who vote for Ms. Hockey and Ms. Goalie? If that were the case, that would really surprise me? Because how many College Coaches visit (or see) every ho...

Another thing is ask any good goalie coach what does GAA mean. Apparently Let's Play Hockey doesn't know. Goals Against Average is how a team performs NOT the goalie, the goalie performance is based on save percentage I agree completely! I have always believed that if you are judging a goalie on st...

Tomass, as an EP Fan I hope you are right. Minnetonka scares me, but Chaska seems to match up with us much better... for whatever reason. That is of course assumes we get past Jefferson. Look what the Giants did to the Pats last Sunday!

Grogan! Hands Down! Even with only 10 games under her belt! By far the best in the state!

She is in a class all to herself. Similar to Seeler in a class all to herself as a skater!

"Unsung Hero" I guess. It sure would be nice to see her at least make the top 5 when the nominations come out. Winning it would be even better - and well deserved! She reminds me alot of Meagan Pezon when she played with EP. Pezon always stood out on the ice when she had the puck. I see th...
