Get rid of High School Sports Completely!!!!

Here's a novel idea...let's get rid of the high schools sponsoring all extra-curricular activities completely. Let all cities and towns create their own club sports like they do in Europe. This way all that money from property taxes and state taxes can go into the young peoples education! Thi...

There were some southern boys playin as well, Ramsey, Christoff, McClanahan, Stroebel, Janezek. I thought they were all great, even if some did grow up north of Hwy 2. Besides are Roseau and Warroad part of the range? Lets just appreciate all Minnesota players, north or south. Since when was the cu...

This whole north/south thing I just don't get. In 1980 with all the MINNESOTANS on the team nobody seemed to care if they came from the north or the south. To me this a minnesota tourney, we should appreciate a good club regardless of where in the state they come from. I guess you didn't live on th...

Give me a break. Lou is a fossil. Retire! The main factor for Minnesota losing the Stars. Tonight It'll be all about Edina. The best thing about going to watch the tourney at the X is that I don't have to listen to Lou. Sorry, but Bronco Nagurski is a fossil, Lou is stating his opinion and doing a ...

Didn't this senior class from Rosemount win the State Bantaam Tournament a few years back? I'm not sure how many of those players may have opted for AAA or not, but I'd think Rosemount should be right at the top or near it in the Lake this year.

An arena I forgot to mention, but I think is one of the nicest around is the St. Thomas Ice Arena in Mendota Heights.

It's got great sight lines and lately some great hockey being played. The only down side is a subpar speaker system.

1.Grand Rapids 2. Little Ralph (TRF) 3. Decc 4. Roseau 5. Burnsville I can accept the other four, but I don't get the DECC. Perhaps for tourney games (like Mariucci), but on a night in night out basis, it seems to spacious. Kind of like the Coliseum, it's almost cavernous without a full crowd. I wo...

Re: post 8280

I was a 3-sport high school athlete and never once was it "easy." During the football season, there was fall hockey and pressure to be hitting in the cage for baseball. During hockey there was really only hockey due to the snow. During baseball there was spring hockey and spring football....

A bit sensitive out there in Windom are we? I'm sure that there will be some hard fought games on the Prairie, but traditionally teams from this region skate a bit slower and don't field lines that are as deep as other regions. It seems that the teams from this region have nice skills, but aren't re...

I like the arena's with higher ceilings, must be my claustrophobia or something.

That's probably why I like:

Hippodrome
Miner's Memorial (Virginia)
Wakota (So.St.Paul)
Aldrich
Hibbing
