Re: Great point
Thank you Sorno for nailing it. I asked the question above about sponsorship. If Little Caesars, Honeybaked, Compuware, and Victory Honda are kicking in money and "dues" for players are still the same, where does all the money go? Do the scholarship the top players in hopes of having a st...

Re: Detroit
No one is suggesting that kids from MN should leave. What I was saying is that if MN system is so bloody perfect, why aren't there more kids coming to MN vs. Toronto, Detroit and Chicago? As I stated - because these players would become small fish in a big pond Yep! So is that why these out-of-stat...

Re: k
thing about that nike tourney any kid can play in that.. kids from minnesota association teams can run over and play in that for the weekend. I am not certain about the "any kid" part. A team would have to apply and be accepted and then be placed into the appropriate division, which may n...

Re: Detroit
Regarding the travel, actually it is getting to some kids already. My e-mail above is from a dad who was there this weekend. Four major out-of-state tournaments already. That's a grind. That is one's person’s opinion. Unless you experience it first hand I do not believe that you can comment on it. ...

A couple of points from someone who is outside of MN. Just got back from the Nike Bauer Tournament and what a blast it was. The best competition, further grouped into regular and elite AAA groupings. Everyone there, including kids from CA, FL, TX were having a time of their life and clearly did not ...

from detroit you had all the games right until the last two. 8-5 not 9-5. 6-5 not 11-9. 11-9 was the score between the minnesota and michigan team. the minnesota was winnning 9-7 with 1:30 left in the last period but collapsed and let up 4 goals. I am sorry, but I am lost. I posted that the game sc...

I did not see any games, but although closer, MI won all 4 games vs. MN. Ok, here are the scores (from people who attended the event), so they may not be 100% accurate. MI Team 1 vs Minn Team 1 (4-2) MI Team 2 vs Minn Team 2 (6-5) MI Team 2 vs Minn Team 1 (9-5) MI Team 1 vs Minn Team 2 (11-9) Penalt...

Re: MN vs. MI
[ The 1989, 1990 and 1991's really dominated the MI teams though, as they went 6 wins, 1 loss and 1 tie. It is funny to hear MI parents/players stating that they may not come back to Minneapolis because of the 1993 debockle. I have not heard of any 89-91 Minnesota players stating that they will not...

High Flyer, I just came on to let you know that the MN boys were not playing against some super-duper-ultra-recruited teams. The MI team (comprised of Honey Baked and Compuware) and LC team have top talent and both LC and Comp are ranked highly in the US, so the outcome of the weekend is not a huge ...

I thought that I would offer a few Detroit perspectives. First of all the organizers were telling the Detroit 93’s that they are going to lose big time to the teams from MN. Fact. This event was very over hyped and did not deliver. Fact. I can’t see how these Detroit kids would be willing to travel ...
