- Topic: Is the MN state hockey tournament really that bad?

There is no reason to change anything. The state tournament starts with the section play-in games and ends at the X a few weeks later. Every team in the state of MN makes the playoffs. How can anyone come to the conclusion this is an unfair system? It isn't unfair that your team didn't get through t...

crazy playoff idea
I will admit this is a crazy idea, but since there were other ones out there this is mine: In hockey, it has traditionally been known the best team usually wins a best of 7 series. A one game series is a lot more unknown, but in 7, usually the best team comes out on top. So here is the scenario. Set...

Re: Never heard so much Bull Whip in my life!
Each team won by one at home, so obviously between these two teams, home ice is worth a goal. . There is no way someone can easily justify why either team should have been seeded higher than the other, other than throwing out their only meeting and taking the rest of the season for what it was wort...

I feel bad for the Brainerd kids, what a bunch of crap the section seeding turned out to be! Anyways, good luck to Roseau in the Finals.... Have to hate section seeding when they go the wrong way :x I am not really sure anyone can say the seeding was bad. These were two very evenly matched teams an...

My only comment about Warroad playing A instead of AA is how the Section 8 AA tourney would look like every year. The first place to draw attention would be which side of the bracket would the three CURRENTLY main teams would get two of them. It would be a slugfest for the second and third ranked te...

Leddy, he lead his team to a state title in his last year, simple as that. Ness, he lead his team to a state title his sophmore year, simple as that. Both of those sentences really do not add to the argument. What makes arguments like this fun is how youth hockey is absolutely phenomenal in MN to e...

Re: Ness vs. Lee
Could someone explain to me why Ness isn't taking the heat that Lee has taken, don't come with he did it the right way. bottom line is he still had a year of eligability left. He left early also, just playing in a different leauge. Now as far as I am conserned age limits are set for a reason, I bel...

 I forgot, all must hail the mighty RAM :!:  They are in what, the easest AA section this side of 1AA? It would be more difficult for them to get out of 8A than AA, no one can argue that. Would they have made it out this year? Absolutly, and they probably would have been competitive at s...

You're taking the comment out of context. Aus genuinely cares about all his players he has had. And I don't know how most people look at the comment, but I think the comment was directed at a switch between Haprer and Lee, not Harper and Hollerud. It was merely a tounge in cheek comment and meant a...

Re: Aus comment
I can’t believe Blaine coach David Aus actually said… “If we switch goalies, we probably win that game 8-2,” What a most undeserving slam to Blaine starting goalie, Danny Harper. Obviously, Harper did not have a good game, but how much of that was due to the accuracy of Roseau’s laser-beam shooting...

I like seeing how Lee's game has devleoped since last year. They are letting him play the puck more allowing for more continuity for Roseau's offense. Last year, he was all about covering the puck up. That being said, he wasn't the best goalie over the quarters, but if I was a coach and got a choice...

Teams pay around $90 per jersey if they buy all of them together as one order. If teams were to sell individual jerseys after every year, they would have to replace individual jerseys every year. If they were to order just 1 or 2 custom jerseys at a time, the prices would skyrocket. So if two or th...

Re: enrollment
But with these bottom two teams do you add in the enrollments from all the schools they take their kids from. Only number that should be surprising here is the low Roseau number. However their rich tradition can probably explain why they can compete with the schools that have higher enrollment They...

sorry...i read your email wrong...what happens when a goalie gets a penalty?? i have never seen that. a different player who was on the ice goes into the penalty box... Refs can give a penalty shot if the goaltender intentionally knocks the net off to stop a scoring chance. Same as a player putting...
