Re: Thank-you, Mr.Cobb & Co
A couple thoughts. First, DAD, I think everyone who has posted on this board actually has a life; and girls hockey is a significant part of it during the hockey season. As far as the girls liking the X; who doesn't like the X? Blood, you mentioned that you loved the first day. What exactly did you l...

Re: Jones
Rube, I agree that Stillwater has a lot of good players and will probably make it to State again in the future. I was referring to this year; without Jones, they would not have been able to beat NSP.

Thank-you, Mr.Cobb & Co
I attended all the games at the X today and I just want to thank the above mentioned folks for providing a venue that has none of the excitement, loudness and atmosphere that the players deserved at a state hockey tournament. There is supposed to be noisy bands, cheers and people rising out of their...

Re: Jones
Jock, I think Jones's teammates will probably learn to like her since without her they would have had zero chance of making it to State. State will probably be the highlight of all her teammates careers. Regarding the rest of your post about Ms Hockey. I for one, hope that the award NEVER considers ...

Re: TV coverage
I would also like to see more tv coverage; primarily because our family has seen many of these players since their youth hockey days. However, I'm not sure if the casual hockey fan would be impressed with the play. I've watched a couple games on local cable channels and the play looks really slow. I...

Re: Ms. Goalie 2006
I would vote for Mickey Jobman (CDH). I think the other goalies had much stronger players in front of them. She was directly responsible for many of CDH's wins.

Re: RE: LOSS
I just caught the shootout; surprised at how inept the US players looked in the shootout. Disappointing not to see them play Canada.

Wendell cannot return. She has signed a couple endorsement deals. I believe Darwitz has said she will not return to the Gophers

Re: Excel Layout
A couple thoughts about the move to the X. First, the best "atmosphere" to date of any of the state tournaments was at the first one at Aldrich Arena. The games were sold out, standing room only affairs. It had a great hockey atmosphere. Apple Valley won the championship. Aldrich has the s...

Re: D
CDH has probably the most unsung group of defenders in the area. They play only three: Carlson, Wild, Schneeman. They are all about five feet tall and their team allowed the fewest goals in the Suburban East. Together with goalie Jobman, they kept CDH in almost every game.

Re: Helmets
I think what irritated a lot of the coaches is that I don't think any were consulted about the helmet rule. It is just another rule passed down from the MN Hockey folks without consulting the people most affected by the rule. Similar to the mandatory stop patch rule; does anyone really think that th...
