Let's remember that hockey is an EXPENSIVE sport - why do you think soccer (football to the rest that little non-USA part of the world) is the number one sport in the world? All you need is a ball and a little open land. The Brooklyn Park/Center area of the Twin Cities is not the *most affluent* sec...

I hear all the arguments against XL but the fact is that the tournament is being played there, not some place else. Maybe I'm an infernal optimist but if all the complainers would actually GO to the games at the X, the attendance might build and the rest will be history. But it seems everybody wants...

I'm not surprised at the negativity. So let's all just stay home to prove a point. Or maybe if EVERYBODY who whined about it actually attended the same game, we might be surprised. What am I thinking? Are these forum writers fans of "girls high school hockey" or are they fans of "thei...

CONGRATULATIONS to ALL the girls who made it! I give my vote to Ms. Chute to be Ms. Hockey as well!

I'm biased of course but seems there is one TEAM conspicuously absent from the lists - EDINA. Somehow they managed to win a few games without any big stars.

Fill the X

Of course that's a pipe dream! But just because some of our teams didn't make it, doesn't mean we can't go fill a seat at the X and show that there really IS interest in girls HS hockey in Minnesota. I'm planning to be there Friday night and Saturday (I have to be out of town Thursday or I'd be ther...

Not at all surprising. BSM is playing well, despite the officiating they were able to get it done. The officiating was questionable in both games tonight. Good luck, BSM. I'm biased (green) but I thought that BSM played well with the "help" of some of the officiating. At least it wasn't a...

My take on the matter ...Yes, they do have the reputation, deserved or not, as a "recruiting" school... When will people "get it" that the private schools RECRUIT EVERY SINGLE STUDENT, athlete or not? The privates have to do "something" to get every single student in t...

Section re-alignment - remember that everyone loves the underdog so don't expect it to happen. That's even more likely with Section 6 being relatively contiguous geography-wise already. If the Powers That Be can load up a lot of top teams in one section, only one of those big dogs will make it to St...

Be happy KARE11 recognized that girls hockey exists. Remember the St. Louis Park ice rink is a whole lot closer to KARE11's studio than the Fairgrounds in St. Paul. Apparently the Edina-Roseville game results haven't been posted on MaxPreps so the Star Tribune, newspaper of that part of the Twin Cit...

Edina 2 1 0 = 3
Roseville 0 0 1 = 2

Correction, Roseville scored in period 3.

Note that ordinarily the scorekeeper or a rink official faxes or calls the score in to the newspapers. I did not see the box score in the Star Tribune this morning so that perhaps did not happen.

Burnsville Girls Holiday Tournament

Hi all - I'm an Edina dad, wondering why there was no mention of this tournament in the StarTribune or on this forum. Anyway, here are the results (goals & assists are based on MaxPreps data, one game isn't posted yet so it's as I remember it.) 4 team round robin format, tournament winner based ...
