Re: Tonka Moorhead

Gotcha.

Agree with InThePipes -- Goldsworthy should probably have gone. I have no issues if they requested kids & they refuse. They are not professionals or even college kids.

Re: Tonka Moorhead

Is this in reference to the acceptance of medals, or was this something different postgame?

Re: Moorhead Edina

Game: Edina just didn't have the offensive juice like years past. Played pretty sound, but a mistake lead to each of the first two goals (1st goal losing track of guys & positioning during the delayed penalty & neutral zone turnover & not getting it deep lead to the rush on the 2nd). Moo...

Re: AA QF - #6 Andover vs. #3 Edina

Edina is a funny team. 1st period they showed that they can play with anyone. 2nd period, they let Andover hang around & it almost bit them. I think they were fortunate to get the 2nd goal waved off. Correct call in my opinion, but more fortunate from a way the game was going at that point aspec...

0-0 shots 7-1/2 minutes in.....even though I specifically remember at least 4 Minnetonka shots on goal.

Re: 6AA Final - #2 Edina vs #4 Wayzata

I wasn't trying to start any flames; I agree on O'Leary. I was just taken aback after twitter last night on a few comments on it was time to move on and another choke job. I guess I only have myself to blame for jumping in the twitter comment gutter. Wayzata always has had strong youth numbers and s...

Re: 2AA Semifinal #1

I wasn't able to watch; what happened to Pitzl? He went hard into the net towards the end of the PL game. He came back in that game clearly still in pain but did not suit up against Tonka. Ribs I heard. Too bad. Has to be hard being on the bench with Wilmer helpless. Seems like EP kind of got the m...

Re: 6AA Final - #2 Edina vs #4 Wayzata

Seemed like McConnell was going for a hard dump in, with the intent for the puck to angle back out in front and he'd try to beat the defenseman to it. Angled to the back of the goal instead, where it then took its interesting route. Wayzata had more shots in the 3rd, but really didn't have many good...

Re: AA Rankings for 2/1/26

EP played with energy and grit. They seem like a team that has grown up over the course of the season, with their 6-1 loss at Braemar and last night’s OT loss serving as instructive data points. Their sophomore goalie played a great game. He was in position the whole night and controlled his reboun...

Re: Official Coaching Openings - 2025-26

The reality is Eden Prairie is a dying program. It’s going the way of other former powerhouses like Burnsville and Bloomington Jefferson. The city is fully developed, the school district has declining enrollment, the youth hockey numbers are way down and the high school is now more than 50% non-whi...

Re: Official Coaching Openings - 2025-26

headsupsticksdown--You seem to be a little plugged in, or at least know someone that knows someone. What are you hearing about the EP coaching search? I heard two things, so who knows if it's true, but this is a message board, so it's fun to throw this on a wall: 1) An assistant interviewed & wa...

EP definitely trying to promote for the job.

Will be interesting who ends up getting it. Definitely a name mega school, but there does seem to be some potential barriers to the job.

Re: Coaching Changes

I'm rather interested in who at EP would have a legit reason to even be upset. I agree with you headsupsticksdown....it's fine to be disappointed in how the season ended & I guess that's ultimately what sometimes is all that matters at certain schools, but big picture considering the roster, pre...

For EP? Definitely below Minnetonka/Edina/Prior Lake & I'd say CC (although they split up & Holy Fam is a factor as well).

Re: Never too early for rankings…

Don't have any first hand knowledge, but judging from what some talk has been over the year(s) & even the post tourney Rink of Fire podcast, chance that Freddie Schneider is a flight risk. Edina certainly is a reload, not rebuild program, but he's a high end player that would obviously hurt losi...

Re: Odds against winning 2025 AA Boys state championship

I always find the "Edina Recruits" whiners funny. Edina doesn't need to recruit, and in fact they hemorrhage talent to private schools like STA and BSM and Blake and Breck. In fact last year Michael Risteau transferred in from BSM and Giles stuck him on the third line, so I wonder if ther...

We should be able to help them with the seeds. Here are my opinions: -Hill Murray the 1, if they win -Moorhead next in line -This is where debates can begin. My thoughts: -I think St Thomas Academy grabs next spot, but could see Stillwater jumping them with win. -Stillwater v. Edina? Tough call. Sti...
