Champlin Park will be tough this year. Even though they got rid of their head coach at the HS level, many kids who could play there have opted to stay in Jr. Gold. Everyone from their U-16 team that went 37-2-1 and won state last year are playing Jr. Gold A this year. That core with the expected cut...

OMG......Can anyone make a comment without being attacked. I am not saying Lucia is a bad recruiter, coach, human being. I have been a gopher fan for over 30 years and I am an UMD alum. All I am saying is that SCSU is making quite a few inroads into our states talent. Maybe what we are seeing is tha...

I am not saying Joey shouldn't have played Elite I. What I am saying is he chose not to for his own reasons. That is absolutley his choice. As for comparing him to his peers, it would be hard to find a player who has played with him or against him who would not tell you that he is special. Is he per...

I am really surprised on all the piling on going on Joey in this posting. You are lambasting a kid because he didn't do what you all think he should do. I have coached Joey and Andy off and on for a few years now. What I can tell you about these kids is that nobody is more loyal than they are. They ...

I am very familiar with this situation and Elliott has nailed it to a tee and so did hockeyboys. The team in question was given 2 extra full sheets/month so that they could schedule more scrimmages to offset the loss of ice time because of the extra players. This along with the smaller slush fund be...

I have heard a couple of names being bandied around. Janostin is the first one out of anyone's mouth in Champlin. He once was the coach and ran out by some idiotic parents many years ago. I would be surprised if he took it again. I think he would be much better with the girls program. The other name...

I have found out the goalies are Matt Ray from Andover and Jimmy Kruger from Hopkins. Also, Max Smith from Eastview is on. As for Pitts from BP, he is a very solid defensive defenseman. He has some offensive talent but steady is the word to describe him. I would really like a full roster if anyone h...

Final 20 for Select 15s
I know Andrew Pitts from Brooklyn Park and Joey Benik from St. Francis made it. Does anyone know the whole roster yet?

Ice29 you could not be more correct. The LPH ratings for the girlsand also many of the others is a joke. People move in and out of the top 5/10 at lightening speed. Here are my top 10 for the U-12A 1. White Bear Lake (back to back state champs....beat'm first) 2. Stillwater 3. Bemidji 4. Centennial ...

What 92 Invite Tournaments are left of any quality?
We are trying to put a schedule together for our farwell tour and I don't seem to see much out there. Any tips for this spring and summer?

BTW Hit the Net................You are correct about the Feds. For some reason we do not match up well with you. However, I think most teams agree that we are a formidable opponent. FYI- we have added Joey and Andy Benik to our roster for this last season. Please let me know where everyone is playin...

Why are people putting so much thought into these pre-season rankings. They are based on nothing. To have Champlin Park ranked is a joke. They have 11 players after last night and they are 0-6 or 7. That being said, Blaine at #4 are 0-5-1, Buffalo is not a good team (nothing personal). Until the tou...

Kudos to the Predators..........They never gave up and won the game in the last 3 minutes. They have a very good goalie (being outshot 33-20 in the game) and did receive a bit of help from a pick-up or two. They are a solid team that no one should overlook. It is finally fun to look at the 92 age gr...

Mr. Orr
You seem very defensive for someone who claims to be in the right. I am very glad that you are defending your coach......It actually tells me that he has earned it in some way. However, you may be an EP kid who is scared to lose his spot if he tells the truth. I hate to have to point this out but re...

I would hardly say the Feds disappointed. They went undefeated in their pool and lost 4-3 to Appleton (who won it all) after they were up most of the game. Then they lost to you guys in a shoot-out. (which is a crappy way to end a championship pool game) I do feel that the Icemen were the best team ...

Mr. Orr/ Mr. Icemen, I am an outside observer who happened to be at the game because of scheduling. I am aware of the situation at the Meltdown because I was there also. I was also a D-3 ref for 10 years. So lets get all the back-biting out of the way and get the facts down. The rule states that if ...

Icemen game
Net, That is the most complete response that could have been written. Their coach was waaaayyyy out of line. His arrogance cost his kids a chance, not the refs. We played the next game with the same refs and they did a very good job. The coach should be suspended by the Icemen program. Why the kids ...

U-12A........I have to ask
Who is going to be tough this next season at the U-12A level? The usual subjects?
I know Brooklyn Park has 12 returning players from a state tny. team so they should be ok. Elk River will be tough as always. Cottage Grove? Edina? Lakeville? Andover? Stillwater?
Lets hear your thoughts.
