Its my understanding his parents never left Owatonna. If he re-enrolled at Owatonna HS this fall I see no reason why he wouldn't be eligible. His U-16 team last year shouldn't effect that.

I was told Wagoner is back at Owatonna HS and is eligible.

Seedings went pretty much as expected. I dont buy the #8 Mayo should have been seeded higher than #5 Owatonna by winning the head to head. Owatonna beat JM twice and Winona in their only meeting. If anything #5 Owatonna should have been #4 for beating #4 Winona easily two weeks ago.

Sorry, I should have went to the bottom of the page. Looks like most people agree with me that South will win this section. Still kinda bugs me that the Southern part of the State will probably not be represented in AA?

I agree Faribault and Century will be preseason favorites. After that there are 4-5 teams that are really close and can occasionally upset those top two favorites.

Until the Lakeville schools have to play postseason against the other Metro teams they will always be favorites in 1AA. The best team in Rochester can usually compete, but most of 1AA is composed of teams that should be playing in Class A.

I agree with SEMinnHockeyNut that Owatonna's goaltending being inconsistent. Also, Owatonna's better players hold the puck way too long which usually results in turnovers. I see a 5-2 Mayo win. I do think Owatonna can be a very dangerous team in the Sections though.

I'm very familiar with southern MN Youth and High School hockey, but not very familiar with the kids who decided to leave Austin. My feelings are... it seems silly to transfer schools to MAYBE play a Varsity sport? What happens if they never make Mayo's Varsity team? Also, a very knowledgable hockey...

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but having watched all these teams I still think Stillwater and Orono (Consolation Championship) can play with Mahtomedi and Owatonna (Championship Game).

Having watch these teams ...all of them are pretty even except Winona. I do think its sweet that these low profile teams get some TV time on FSN January 1st
