Re: Another tourney!

Another fun Friday night last night, the Edina-Moorhead game was epic and my nightmare of an STA-Edina final was averted. Mind you, I respect both programs, but it's not as much fun to watch a final with two teams where I don't care who wins. Kind of like watching a Super Bowl with two teams I don't...

Re: Another tourney!

I have a ticket in Sec 105, Row 24 tonight. Now I’ll know who to tell to pipe down if you guys get too rowdy. Enjoy the tickets and I'll be back in those seats Saturday evening. Thanks again! Picked up a Class A ticket to make a day out of it. My first tourney trip here post-Covid; I’ve missed the ...

I'd agree. One epic game is all I really need today

Another tourney!

With all due respect to our Class A friends, the tourney really starts for me today. We've got more snow today than we've had in awhile, so much like the State Fair begins in the summer and ends in the fall, the tourney will begin in winter and end in spring. I'll be in my usual seat in section 120 ...

Re: Section Venues

I have a hard time believing BIG has a larger capacity than Braemar. Perhaps those numbers are according to the Fire Marshall. I swear, 90% of a Fire Marshall's job is to prevent people from going to sporting events. I thought the same thing, it seems like Braemar should have more capacity than BIG.

I managed to get a ticket to the 4AA championship. First time since they moved it to Aldrich. Parking will be insane, I advise getting there early.

Re: Section Venues

The MSHSL should just rent out Ridder for all metro-based section finals. I can't imagine there being a ton of empty seats. Yeah, it's a commute for some, but if you're going to be playing at the X at state, there's going to be a commute anyway. The undersized section final venues for the metro jus...

Re: Board down/Board back up!

The Board going down is a State Tourney tradition. Not one of my favorite traditions to be honest, but it isn't tourney time if it doesn't happen at least once.

No Mariucci chant this year

Just realized that there won't be any 'Mariucci' chants during today's games since the consolation games will be played in Aldrich. 'Aldrich' just doesn't have the same ring to it.

Re: Section Tournament Ticketing Systems

They really need to go back to the pre-Covid days for tickets. If someone wasn't Internet savvy, there's no way they are getting tickets to these games. Even for Internet savvy folks, it seems like a PITA to find links. Feels like an Easter egg hunt. Between the labyrinthine ticketing systems and t...

Re: Class A QF #3 seed 4A Mahtomedi (20-8-0) vs 6A Alexandria (14-12-1)

He had to have said something, right? The one announcer said he watched the whole scene play out and it didn't look like the Alexandria player even looked in a different direction than at his own bench the whole time. Seems like there would have had to be certain words that maybe were said. I guess...

Re: 2022 Section 4AA Playoffs

Anyone who watched the HM Gentry semi would in no way say that the refs always favor Hill. As much as it pains me to agree with a Hill fan, I'd have to concur with ESPG's comment. I even texted a Hill fan at the time that Gentry must have gotten their bag of cash into the refs locker room before Hi...
