Can someone explain to me/us how anyone that signed a pro contract (ECHL or AHL) can now go back and play college hockey? How is this even possible...
Does this mean that anyone who's playing/played pro hockey and has college eligibility left can go back to their college and play?

Re: Official Coaching Openings - 2025-26
This trend is truly sad as parents keep rushing their kids through the process PARENTS- Colleges don't want your kid until he's 21 now...Slow the F down..If you think sending your 15-16 year old to Moose Jaw Canada is the answer then please put down those pot gummy bears because they are making you ...

Re: HS Elite League Rosters
In the pipes I think the real reason college coaches don't come to as many HS games today is they are now to busy trying to poach kids off other D-1 teams..Or they are watching the major junior games up in Canada. It's just a matter of time before kids playing pro hockey (in the ECHL or AHL) are all...

Re: HS Elite League Rosters
Can I ask a serious question What has happened to the HS Elite league I thought it was a place to keep upcoming high school Juniors and Seniors from leaving for the USHL/junior league. In the last several years, its appears it's a political Sh*tstorm riddled with 9th graders or move in from out of s...

Corn...I think East Side was being funny Pretty sure he knows the top guy at the strip worked for Walz for years I voted left far more times than I voted right and even I can't read that paper anymore Aside from their political stance, the Trib has a long history of ignoring hockey. Or at best, prov...

Re: Strib ruins sports hubs
I gave up on the Star Tribune a long time ago. They stopped reporting the news and started to try to get us to think like their faithful leader(s) Plus everyone knows hockey is their 8th or 9th favorite sport to cover I get why they need to charge a fee now that their paper no longer gets tossed ont...

Re: Cole Bumgarner
Sad part of all of this is 1. Dad don't care...He's reading this and we are just feeding his ego 2. College Coaches don't care...If the kid can play, these coaches and their egos will think they can fix anything 3. The NHL don't care about some delusional hockey dad...they've seen it all - They just...

Re: Cole Bumgarner
I think it's safe to assume that parents today know there is ZERO chance of getting busted. School admins are more worried about proper labeling of the schools bathrooms. Hockey coaches are thinking if I keep perfecting my recruiting skills, I could be D-1 coach in 2-3 years The MSHSL and the AD's a...

Wait. There's an "advising group" focused on unhappy high school players? yowza ...talk about a racket Please tell me this isn't a thing and you're just joking Parents....If you have an advisor and your kid isn't on central scoutings top 100 list, you are crazy...And if you are paying this...

Re: Official Coaching Openings - 2025-26
Spread is right The only way to stop this recruiting is for families (and teams) to get busted and lose eligibility....I would love to see a school get the death penalty for recruiting these kids ...It would pretty easy to police (ie knock on doors) but MSHSL is afraid that a family that can afford ...

Re: Official Coaching Openings - 2025-26
Yes EP will never go back to its glory years of winning unless this new coach can recruit like a SEC football coach. My thoughts are the AD made a huge mistake with this hiring and the initial reaction will be more abandonment by key families. EP families probably wanted a "higher profile"...

Re: Official Coaching Openings - 2025-26
Does it really matter who EP hires? Sounds like this group of parents (and lets by honest, ALMOST ALL PARENTS TODAY) are going to try to run the coach out on the first day their little Billy isn't on PP1 !!!

I agree..And look at the last four years Lee is forced out Kids leaving early, kids moving to other programs... Twigs is forced out Doesn't take much to look at the parents and say WHAT RIP EP....Stick tap to the city...Other than Edina or Hill, it has to be one of the more consistent winning AA pro...

Re: Coaching Changes
I stand corrected...looking those kids up, I see now that a couple of those kids did actually play a couple years for Twigs before leaving early for juniors. But can we at least agree that what Twigs was handed roster wise was nothing close to what Lee use to have almost every year... Twigs did lose...

Re: Coaching Changes
It looks like the perfect storm hit Twiggs 1. He didn't recruit when even schools like Shakopee has figured out that it's the only way to win. 2. He lacked numbers - EP's program has half the kids playing hockey as they did during the Rau, Leddy, Casey era... 3. Did Twiggs ever get to coach a legiti...

Re: Odds against winning 2025 AA Boys state championship
Thanks My guess is some kids did it legally and some just skirted the rule that MSHSL league has no desire to enforce. I think if today you went to the "new" addresses of some of these kids, their "new" house's driveway will not be plowed Go to their former address, not only is t...

Here is what I think you will see 1. Less American's wearing division one college hockey jerseys over the next few years..... 2. As it relates to Minnesota High School hockey, You will probably see more and more kids leave High School early now as dad pushes their kids up to Major junior. And for th...

Re: The NCAA is poised to let in Canadian major junior hockey players. Here’s what it could mean to the CHL
I'm perplexed why the Canadian Universities continue to sit on their hands...This is no brainer for them to jump forward and build a great D1 level hockey conference that could mirror what we have in the Unites States. in 4-5 years, you could see the US D1 champion play the champion of the Canadian ...

Re: Mike Randolph out at St. Thomas Academy
AD's and school boards simply fold when it comes to todays parents running the show. Administrators know conflict is the one thing that may disrupt their cozy chair/job title . Yes St Thomas got a great replacement. But didn't Randolph get the job in a very similar fashion (parents whispering in the...

Re: NTDP Eval Camp
All good stuff and let's keep this a healthy discussion. The NDTP for all it's "perceived" value does have stories of kids going there with big dreams only to find themselves watching games from the sidelines or playing 4th line minutes. NDTP is a development program but that doesn't mean ...

Re: NTDP Eval Camp
If you're a parent of one of these kids understand this 1. You don't need the NDTP Program - Your Kid doesn't need the NDTP program 2. Do you really want to ship your 16 year old kid off to live with strangers in Michigan? 3. Did you just watch the High School State tournament? I guarantee you your ...
