Kudos to the Caribou Cup for changing their eligibility rules back! Now the question is will they ENFORCE these rules. We all know that 99% of the AAA do obey the rules and don't need to be monitored or checked. But there are certain AAA associations that do not obey these rules (i.e. Jr. Chill). Wi...

We all need to applaud HuskiesHockey - the Caribou Cup CHANGED their eligibility TODAY!!!! Here is what is posted on the web-site now: After much debate, and confusion, the girl's age eligibility rules for the Caribou Cup have been adjusted to Birth Year dates. The tournament rules that are posted o...

Congratulations! The ground swell of support vs. the Jr. Chill's practices has lead to their head coach quitting because she did not want to be a part of a cheating program. Kudos to her! You all can guess that the Jr. Chill tried to soil her good reputation - fortunately that is falling on some dea...

Your changes of the eligibility rules for girls is just a joke. How can you allow 99's in a U12 tournament (in a month they will be playing U14) or 01's in a U10 (they will be playing U12). My guess is you have succumb to pressure from the Jr. Chill that they would pull out their teams. That would m...

hockeyFam5 - as a FYI, the Independent Classic tournament in May had the same eligibility rules posted on their web-site for their tournament. Yet the Chill still entered and took 1st Place for U10 and 2nd Place for U12 (the banners are hanging in the arena). Either the Tournament Director never che...

Caribou Cup
You may want to check out this other thread on this site. I believe the Jr. Chill plays in your tournament. Maybe you want to think twice about that?

I love this! Now all we have to do is get tournament directors to see this thread and the more parents of Chill players so they realize what is going on. A couple of comments - HOK2013 - I think your suggestion is a good one to have girls play with the age group they are GOING INTO for the next asso...

HuskiesHockey - just a thought, send the Chill parent you know the rules from the Independent tournament. They are still on-line. And on the home page it clearly states that 99's are not allowed in U12 and 01's are not allowed in U10. Then ask the "hockey mom" to check with other parents w...

Here is an excerpt from the Independent Tournament Rulebook - it is posted on the tournament web-site: Girls Age Levels For 2013 Independent Classic 8U Level - 2004 Or Younger 10U Level - 2003 & 2002 12U Level - 2001 & 2000 14U Level - 1999 & 1998 16U Level - 1997 & 1996 19U Level - ...

They do talk out of both sides of their mouth - its not about winning (see their web-site) but we will cheat and hang banners from the rafters. Ironically, they did play in the Independent Tournament this year and on the web-site for the tournament it stresses, you won't get away with cheating, yet ...

I believe they have 99's on their U12 team and 01's on their U10 team. A tournament they played in this spring at the U12 level said only 2000's and 2001's - yet they played in it. And I believe the U10 level did not allow 01's yet they played in that too. And yes, they have been doing it for years....
