Fun game to watch - as an East homer I have great bias regarding certain things :) but I enjoyed the game for the most part and will root on the north at the X. I like Klatt, Rapids may have finally found a decent coach. And those sophomores are excellent. I find solace in the fact that all the East...

Is it true that no one on this EGF team has committed anywhere? Even a skilled big man like Eades? Impressive team, very fun to watch.

This is true. I was homeschooled and attended PSEO classes at UMD while playing sports for East. I believe Beaulieu does the same, except through LSC rather than UMD.

Rumor is Blais was there to offer Beaulieu a scholarship. He definitely isn't the first, but might be the biggest name so far.

From what I heard, the current plan is to play Beaulieu at center. Wouldn't be surprised to see him moved around depending on the team/situation though. He played forward all the way up until high school so this isn't new territory for him, seems like Randolph wants to use that high end talent to f...

Phil Beaulieu, Duluth East. Four year varsity D man. Consistent points against the state's toughest teams since 9th grade. Never finishing a season without a trophy from the state tournament (Second, Consolation, Third). He has plenty of D1 interest and should definitely be in the running. I also t...

Few of the names from AA that come to mind:

Sheehy
Teemu
Peterson
Edina (Munson? Nanne? Assuming that Hurley departs)
Beaulieu
Slattery?
Herdt?

The latest I heard after the tournament is that Randolph is coming back - of course that could change at any time. With him, they'll be fine and will compete for the section again. First line has experience now - Bunten, Kolar, Altmann and the D pair of Beaulieu and Trapp should be pretty darn good....

I think next year rides first on whether Randolph stays and second on whether Beaulieu stays. If both stay, they'll do well and Beaulieu will be up for the Reed Larson award.

It all depends on if East can play their physical game to slow down Edina's individual skill. They did earlier in the year so I'll take East by one, 4-3.

I've found this to be quite common, especially on the high school games shown on FSN during the regular season. These announcers just tell random stories rather than providing a play by play. It can definitely be frustrating at times.

Its pretty funny how perspective affects reaction. All of the DE fans near me were saying the orange band on the ref's arms was in support of GR because of their horrible officiating and that GR wouldn't have even been in the game if the refs hadn't gifted them so many calls. Multiple missed trippin...

Two teams I love to avoid at the tournament: Edina and HM. Both have such good coaching staffs that their kids are always ready to play. High school athletes can be mentally weak but a great coaching staff can turn that all around. What a solid all around effort by HM after that first goal. The 3rd ...

Depends on whether or not Thompson shows up for Denfeld. He's great when he's on. This Hunters team has been so up and down though, I'll say Marshall 4-2.

C-dad, he's not comparing how hard schools have been hit or saying Wayzata gets hit harder, he's just asking what happens to Wayzata. Yea, it does happen to others as well, but that's not exactly pertaining to his question. I'm sure everyone would acknowledge that it affects other schools as well.

Several are not seniors. Zach is a junior, Beau is a junior, Levi is a junior. Not sure on the Superior kids. I'm guessing they didn't add several East guys in order to let other kids onto the team. Pretty sure if it was totally talent/skill, that team would be more overrun with Hermantown and East ...

The fact that he hopes Peterson has a "better hockey career" certainly opens the door to wondering exactly what he does mean. Unless he's in Peterson's immediate family, in which case you can understand the bias, why would he want one kid to have a better career than the other unless he w...
