How is the youth program at the squirt, peewee and bantam levels?
I am thinking Mike Randolph and Tom Klein may have interest in this job.

Re: Mason Moe
Thank you for finding the rule Bardown. Furthermore, why would you take a kid back 8 weeks into a season? I don't care who he is or how good he is. I know kids are probably talking to him but if the program wasn't good enough for him to come back 8 weeks ago, why bother? Disruptive to a team and som...

Re: 2024-25 Transfer Watch List
I agree with you that there are coaches out there that will tell kids to stay where there at and guarantee nothing. However, I disagree with you that nothing can be done regarding players transferring and open enrollment.

Re: 2024-25 Transfer Watch List
' EP used to have people transfer in, now they are transferring out, and Tonka is getting the transfers" The quote above is a very interesting one. I wouldn't say they transferred in but were recruited in year after year. I could not understand for the life of me why the people of Eden Prairie ...

It remains to be seen but you have your head in the sand if you think this is an upgrade over Mike Randolph.

Re: Coaching Changes 2024-25 - Official Thread
Utah is a great place for Lee Smith. There are many better candidates out there then Lee Smith. Plus Holy Family is a Catholic School. Why would they want to put up with all his off ice shenanigans and behavior?Coaches are supposed to be good role models for their players.

Re: The Minnetonka Machine, and where they came from
I wonder how the kids with hopes and dreams of making the Bantam AA team in Tonka three years ago felt when all these kids showed up for Bantam Tryouts. The tax paying parents need to raise holy hell with the youth program and the school. This is ruining high school hockey period, and the state high...

Re: 2023-24 Season Transfers
How many transfers did Minnetonka bring in? I heard they had transfers but not sure who they are, how many or where they came from. Furthermore. I thought it was interesting how the Tonka boys program was not mentioned in the Trib article a while back on transfers but the girls program was. My bet i...

I am curious to how the two Edina kids were allowed to transfer to EP as seniors by the MSHSL. Did they move to EP?

Re: Blake from EP
Before you imply that this is legit or okay, I would encourage all of you to go back to the 4AA outlook post and read the MSHSL rules that someone posted. Read in detail, and write down each violation......and then reply on this thread. Looks to me like it is pretty smelly........the rules interpret...

Anyone in the know out there how the kid from Eden Prairie and White Bear were able to join their high school teams twenty plus days after the season started?

Fat Cat
Whatever happened to telling a kid as a senior to stay where you are at? We (EP) have enough kids of our own. This goalie will come in and take a spot away from a EP kid. However, this is not about the kids. It is about stroking the slimy northern's ego.

Unfortunately with this possible transfer model, you are going to see high school programs loading up like the NBA in my opinion.

Re: Role of the Minnesota State High School League
My belief is that the number of transfers is out of control. If people transfer the right way, purchase homes and become part of the community within their school's boundary, they have taken the right and honest path. However, I just feel all the loopholes need to be closed and the transfer guidelin...

OTC I don't know who Busby is. I am from Duluth and only know that Langenbrunner rented an apartment in Eden Prairie as he still has his permanent place in Moose Lake. Used some lame excuse that he needed to be close to the airport. Couldn't he stay in Cloquet and fly out of Duluth? This is one of m...

Just would like the MSHSL to lower the boom on this transfer BS so the same crap doesn't continue to happen like what happened at STA, EP, Hermantown to name a few. We need to preserve the great community based model we have for generations to come.

Re: Role of the Minnesota State High School League
Thank you BSU! Wasn't aware the NCAA was looking at revamping the transfer rule. My point of the whole thing is the MSHSL has to simplify and yet get rid of all the loop holes. Open enrollment was established for education and high school hockey has made a mockery out of what it was truly intended f...

Re: Role of the Minnesota State High School League
I am 100 percent with you Stang5280 if it is for education. Add a provision then that the kid is not eligible for high school athletics for one year to the date of enrollment. Similar to the college transfer rule. We would soon find out if it was truly for education then.

Role of the Minnesota State High School League
With what is happening at schools like STA, EP, Hermantown, etc., the state high school league needs to both simplify and tighten the hatch down on transfers to both public and private. Very simply the only way you can transfer is to move to that community and school boundary for both public and pri...
