Hornets 3-peat Jefferson History may be matched
Let's not overlook the thing staring Minnesota High School Hockey in the Face. Edina, the Yankees of Youth Hockey is looking to tie the 3-peat of Bloomington Jefferson. They are lead by Mr. Hockey 2015 Dylan Malmquist. Best Edina overall talent since Paul "1000+ NHL games" Ranheim. There d...

Malmquist Mr Hockey 2015
Malmquist Mr Hockey 2015 versatile scorer, as he showed as a freshman and sophmore, all around player as a junior. Many years since Edina has had (Ranheim) a player who is just that much ahead of all the rest.

You are a little over the top in your figures. My son played Tier 1 AAA hockey in Illinois this year. One of the more expensive places to play hockey, especially Tier 1 and the total costs with travel, fees everything was in the $10k area, not 30 to 40k.... I do know one or two places where it gets...

Minnesota Made from an Edina Residents perpective
My son played football this year and i was never so relived that hockey is now over for him. I have watched the building of the Minnesota Made Hockey facility and all i can say is here is my perpective as an Edina resident. At one time there was suppose to be a school, that school made them exempt f...

Redtundra you uphold the Minnesota model at the youth level only to throw it out when you get to high school? Why? Also, who is the High School tourney for, scouts or for the kids playing? Reality of hockey is you spend 8 to 10 thousand a year on a sport that like all others there is less than .1% c...

yes juiceman you are correct i ramble at times. These boards are quite the intellectual playgrounds....I read the thread from start to finish and the debate of AA vs A vs b1 vs OMG-2 huge high schools loading up teams vs one community with one High School. What is better for their development??? I g...

Jag - They took OUT the Rochester A1 team to make it competitive... If you call that district good Minnesota Pee Wee A hockey... than about that money tree... Seriously you are making yourself look foolish... Next you're going to say that all teams at the A level should be required to have 15 skate...

Concerned Hockey Coach: Boy I wonder who you voted for for Prez in 2008! Just like MN Hockey can do it all at the state level and trample the local ass'n's, you surely also believe the Fed government should be able to control my healthcare and decide who gets guns... I see your colors now.[/quote] G...

Concerned Hockey Coach Again with the HS focus... good gosh. Get off it pls. on that point why than do the best have to be with the best??? You are trying to look at a sport with blinders!!! Only for the moment. Tryouts?? Remember i'm Mr. Jaded. Hockey players at times are in the eyes of the beholde...

[I'm done with you. You clearly have not addressed the main arguments here and believe that kids develop equally on teams with wide variety of skill levels. I'm starting to understand why you sound like your association did not go with your advice and hence the bitter tone in your references and yo...

Oh so the AA/A debate is the small associations or 97% of the world wanting a chance to be competitive?? So they are saying there kids don't like going to tourneys and getting waxed. Seeing the brackets and when they see they have to play EP or Edina or Wayzata in the first game that there are isn't...

Concerned coach you write For me, kids develop best when they are playing (AND PRACTICING more importantly) with kids of their same skill set who both challenge and support them. Right now, splitting your most talented 15 players up so that you can have two A teams is not the answer in my book. The ...

The AA v A debate is just an afront to the real issue. Having a AA class at the youth level is putting earings on the pig. Parents want options and choice and in larger associations there is none it is all about who knows who. Mn Hockey needs to mandate as pointed out earlier you have 100 skaters yo...

My vote is NO, they shouldn't even have a split at High School....they should be talking about going back to just one class for all. Another person voting to help usher in AAA hockey and ending High School Hockey. Another great part of AAA fans they love to tell everyone why the Minnesota model suc...
