Teams always lose players due to injury, illness, quitting, or other issues. Losing one player should not have created such a downfall unless it was a key player like a goalie. No depth = no competitiveness.

Well, looking at who Hutch plays, I think Sweson is better then Johnson and Burgau. Campion is the only reason Marshall beat NU and tied Hutch and stayed in the Lourdes game. Had some shut outs on weaker teams, but he is better than the two tonight too. They are all fine kids...yep - goalie position...

well, it will be interesting to see what you all say tomorrow. Both goalies are fine - not outstanding - just fine. The two best goalies in the section will be watching the game from the stands. tonights game will not be a game of great goalie saves with a goalie carrying his team to state like most...

I think that is the way a lot of NU players are though - they are talented, but they have an ATTITUDE. NU goalie should have been better, but he didn't always need to be. If I recall right, I don't think Marshall hardly had any shots on him... not sure about that.

Seedings are questionable this year, but honestly, most of the teams were pretty close. Marshall takes it to New Ulm Twice, loses to Hutch in OT, Loses 3-1 vs. Litch, Litch beat Hutch 3-1, NU beats Hutch, on and on and on. The way I see it, it really was a toss up between those 4 teams. They all did...

Wow Garry B! Whoa... Have to agree with most of what you say. Disappointment for Hutch. Powerplay was the game ended for Hutch. Great match up, but a big disappointment not to make it back. Some tough teams in the section. Agree with the analysis of Luverne and Hutch. Marshall, NU, Hutch and LDC had...

lets be serious - there is no possible way that Luverne could or should beat New Ulm. I am not a NU fan, but it would be a disgrace to hockey if Luverne beat them. They are no where near the same level of play, technique, or ability. NU's only problem will be to keep from overlooking Luverne and thi...

Toss up... Litch beats Marshall in section - Marshall can't score well, tough goalie Marshall takes Hutch to overtime in Feb. - Marshall great goal tending and a few lucky goals. I think if Sweson is on, then Hutch should take the game. If Litch goaltending is solid, then it will be a tough battle. ...

oh yeh - we are scared to play you and lose to you - that's right. Lets see, should we play Willmar, Delano, East Grand Forks or Redwood? Hum..that's a tough one.

I don't mind losing 10 games a year when I know I played HIGH QUALITY GOOD HOCKEY TEAMS!!!!! Some losses feel like a win when you play great teams that play good hockey! Beating less than average teams is nothing to brag about. I would rather lose 10+ games on a good schedule than win a ton of games...

Settle down golfer 5... you were around in the 80's - my parents weren't even married or graduated yet...why do we have so many parents on this site? I honestly don't know Redwood, and haven't seen them play - just look at the stats and the schedule. Yep - heard all your arguments on why they are so...

Whoa...Sleepy eye beats Worthington - good for them Marshall takes Hutch to overtime - Marshall is moving in a positive direction. I just saw them play, and they are only as good as their goalie. They work hard, but the goalie is great. Looking at followthepuck stats, looks like Campion is right up ...

hey - marshallisawful - sounds to me like you really wish you were from Marshall - I don't know why, but you Redwood players sure seem hung up on Marshall for some reason. Be happy with your season. I just think Redwood hasn't proven themselves and because they have one of the easiest schedules in t...

Redwood, Marshall, Morris, and the rest have nothing compared to Hutch and NU. I personally can't wait to see Redwood crumble when they finally play someone good in the section playoffs. We will see what golfer5 has to say then  Waconia has a stud freshman forward; Redwood is solid ONLY in SW ...

New Ulm will be the team to beat if the playoffs were today. They have the most fire power and a good goalie. I think they are improving the most as a team, and Hutch seems to be sliding downward. Hutch is solid, but will have problems with NU. Redwood will come in confident because they have a good...

Let's get back to who the best players in the section are: Hutch has the best goalie - great percentage in a tough conference which includes Holy Angels. With the schedule they play, he is doing great. Other great players: NU - peterson, traulich, fisher, juntunen (when he wants to be), Burgau RW - ...

Marshall goalie is good when he plays... From what I have seen, they have two great defense man (13,14), and the rest are just average/good. Not sure the d and goalie can stop Hutchinson and New Ulm. The D did it in the New Ulm game, along with the play of the goalie. They don't have much for scorin...

3A: 1 - Hutch - solid team, great schedule, solid consistent lines, good teamwork, great goalie 2 - New Ulm - great players, but work ethic issues - never know what to expect - some lazy players with good talent 3 - Litchfield - plays well as a team; decent goalie 4 - Redwood - plays hard, easy sche...
