Topic: 2013 Frank Brimsek Award - Top Senior Goaltender

Does the Frank Brimesk award apply exclusively to a goaltender's senior year of play? In other words, is any consideration given to a goaltenders previous year(s) of varsity play? Opening that scope, there is a larger gap between Zevnick and Dugas. That would make the decision much easier to call IMO.

Besse had Dugas' number all night long. Dugas went down (and he's short), Besse shot high - goal! Congrats Grant Besse and BSM!

How was Moorehead supposed to win when they only had 1 shot on goal in the third period? It's too bad Bitzer had to get a shutout to get a win. Just shoot on goal Moorehead....

Agree with noseinbin4me* Lechner's bad decisions he made 2 years ago have come full circle and are now back to bite him hard. Those that actually go to school at Hill know all too well. "You Reap what you Sow" is an understatement this year. By the way, Lechner is the Hockey Coach, the Bas...

I totally agree with rashreid20 - this was not a very "goalie friendly" tournament with such a huge disparity is team strength and factoring in the penalty shots. Just look at the stats - the winning team goalies faced less shots and hence, have the best stats. Not to take anything away fr...

Got to go with Charlie Lindgren of Lakeville South. There are many good goaltenders, but a GREAT goalie consistently keeps his team in the game with 30-60 shots on goal - that would be Lindgren!

Yes. It's happened for years and still happens. Speaking from 15+years of being there. Not saying ALL the financial aid money goes to financing the players on the team, but yes a good chunk. Not meant as a slam, just a fact of life. Those who pay "in full" are not turned down.

That's because most of the financial aid money is awarded to the recruited kids so they can afford the tuition in order to play on the team!

Advance 15's

Agree on your defense, I would add Forwards Andrew Schofield and Devon Donohue, and goalies Hunter Miska, Andrew Sprang and Ryan Froom to the mix

Hill Murray (6-0-1) @ Mahtomedi (4-1) 12-19-09 3pm

I would agree with goldfishdude. Luke Voltin is by far the most impressive 9th grader on the Hill team. I predict to see him playing some varsity by the end of the season.

H-M Roster

Keepinitreal, you are wrong. Failing Math miserably and barely passing Science. A 1.7 GPA isn't a hiccup, it's called "ineligible" - hence the demotion to the JV roster. With these kind of grades, he won't be able to play JV or Varsity after semester grades are posted in Jan. He should've ...

White Bear vs. Hill Murray 12-15

Don't count WBL out for sections and HM shouldn't get overly confident too soon. There is still a lot of hockey left in the season. HM may have won this battle but the war will continue!
