Hats off to Stillwater in last night's tie against Hastings. The referees mucked up what would have been a really good game and became a sixth man on the ice for the Ponies. Ten penalties for Hastings to two from Stillwater. Three power play goals by the Ponies, two with a 5 on 3 advantage. Hastings...

I agree, as I have been lectured to in previous posts that they rely upon the "home official scorer", problem is they often are given misinformation. The scoring stats come from the ref, I can't tell you how many times I have seen a player get credit for an assist or even a goal who wasn't...
I am not sure about the rule but I thought 5 penalties in a game was an automatic disqualification from game and following game.
It is... she had 4, very unlike her, these were her first penalties for her since the season opened.

Couple of things, unless you are the official scorer where did you get your stats on the penalties? Post a reliable source then and I will shut up. Jumpstart, no one from Hastings was ejected, simply untrue. Most of the pushing and shoving was in retaliation to the WBL girls after they did it. Final...

Hockeyheaven you must be the parent of the one who crosschecked our player in the back and into the boards. Isn't she the one who got kicked out last year... several times. I see you don't list her in the program, not sure why. The Hastings player went face first into the boards and never returned, ...

Suburban East Conference

I was witness to a battle between Hastings and Stillwater tonight. I have to say that after watching an undisciplined and chippy WBL team take it on the chin from the Raiders last week it was nice to see a classy Stillwater team come to town. Clean, well coached and classy. Even though the home team...

LPH rankings vs. KACH

I have never paid much attention to the LPH rankings, usually based on emotional B.S. and nothing really scientific. I can't remember who, but someone in years past has posted a weekly ranking called the KACH (I think) system. It took in several factors such as difficulty of schedule and used a math...

[b][quote="hockeywild7. It has nothing to do with whether or not I am a fan of Stillwater. Yes, the 1st or 2nd line did score very early in the 3rd but never saw the ice again. Really?! I am pretty sure Salmen, King, Cartony and Turri saw their regular shifts in the third, several people commen...

I actually posted on another thread. You are correct, Hastings goalie was involved in a scrum in front of the net during the second period of the Mounds View game. She was pulled and labled with a concussion and has to sit out 2 weeks. Not sure of her availability for Roseville this Saturday. Back u...

I wouldn't read too much into the Stillwater score, Hastings has been without their starting goalie since going into the third period of the Mounds View game. She mentioned the word "headache" after a scrum in front of the net and the next thing you know she is sitting for 2 weeks. Their b...

To bad for the Hastings girls team last night. 14 seconds away from a win. Refs had a tough one, lots of retaliation penalties on both sides and chippiness that went unnoticed. All and all a very entertaining game. Couldn't agree more about the Marcotte play, she hustled her butt off to save the gam...

I think "inthestands" is from "ontheice". First, what is the point of conducting evaluations if nothing gets done with them and they are "always under scrutiny"? Guys, this is not rocket science, I am talking about a supplemental tool that would help the refs be more co...

Hey inthestands, without posting resumes here I am betting that most of the commentators that spend time on these boards have a vast knowledge of the game either as a current or past coach, player or ref. Don't assume we don't have experience and that we don't know what we're talking about. Question...

Melvin, couldn't agree with you more on the 2 player in the corner penalty when one comes away standing up and then is escorted right to the box. Another thought. Last night I watched a game where refs called a couple of ticky tacky penalties that allowed a weaker team to get back in the game. Examp...

Interesting thread regarding the refs and you all make very good and valid points. We understand their job is very difficult but some are just plain incompetent and sometimes down right arrogant. My daughter, much like Melvin's has been challenged and talked "down to" by one unnamed ref in...

Agreed, Hasting's veteran defense have been extremely tight and strong around the net and goalie Wical is the Jr. netminder to watch in this conference registering her 4th shout out in 9 games. Has anyone else noticed the inconsistancy in girl's reffing this year?
