I don't know about the top players but if you take the top 10-15 associations around the state I am pretty sure there second and maybe even third team(s) will be more competitive then the top team at the girls level at the same organization. If you are talking about cities 2nd and 3rd teams versus ...

Jolly/Inigo how dare you take anything away from these girls. They worked there butts off all weekenmd and here you both come and sweep it aside like its nothing. Get over yourself, I know I could call a numerous amount of top end 96's and destroy whatever you could throw trogether. So where is the ...

I say that, individually, any of the STE Red, the IceCats (who won the CLASH), 98OS (who lost to the Ice Cats 3-2 in the semi's before beating the Ice Edge 2-0 for third) and Ice Edge would have made it to the Championship game of the 2011 Meltdown. Obviously, all the teams who accepted an invitati...

It'll be nice when the girls switch to birth year, rather than 10/12/14/16. If you are not going to invite the 99s to play 12U, where are they going to play? I think the top 12U teams mentioned above will be challenged (or beaten) by a couple of the Meltdown teams before the year is over; I would s...

Re: If you want to crown em, then crown em!
Elk River #1 & Maple Grove #2? I guess everyone is playing for 3rd place! What about Minnetonka, NWC, Wayzata, Edina, EP? Maybe we should let them get through tryouts before we get to excited about our teams! Let the season begin! Agreed! Can we see how the first half goes and then start with t...

Looks like the WI Jr Badgers should have been in the 12U Elite. guess the just wanted to prove they could beat weaker teams. No. They signed up and were told that the talent was going to be deep, after seeing the pools and who was there, they tried to get moved up to the 14U division and were unabl...

Re: Caribou
Don't discount the Renegades in the U12 Elites- some of the best talent in the Midwest is playing on that team... Best Talent in the Midwest.......(CRICKETS)..... Really! Um, Renegades 0 and 4 and I think it is going to be 98 Ice Cats and OS. The Ice Cougars Major have no scorers, just goalies. And...

Is what I describe really unusual? If so, then I really have been luckey. Yes you have. You really think the 61 12 U A teams in the state have similar situations and similar coaches? Really? Your daughters coach served more than a decade in the NHL. Along with an amazing talent pool and reaminder o...

Every team my daughter has played for got most of their goals in the third period. They love it when the opposing coach plays a short bench. Stay close for two periods and during the third skate around their exhausted starters and light up the goal. I've always thought the third period didn't look ...

u14agoalie, sounds to me like you are making excuses. I would question if your weaker skaters with fresh legs could make any difference compared to your starters who are tired. Are you saying that your team made it to state without shortening the bench? And if not, are you then saying that you could...

As an observer, I was helping out with the tournament and I was shocked at how many penalties were inforced in that game. I was speaking to the tournament director on Sunday and he had said that the referees in question were asked not to come back. When I asked why his response was that the two didn...

P4 I agree 100%, now is the time for confidence building and unity. Settle the lines in. Some of these seeds are looking at facing top teams from now through March. The district and regions rush is an entirley different game. Coaches are tenser, pressure is on, and the girls feel it themselves. Comi...

ICE ICE ICE!!!!!
As our season is ramping up for districts and a hope at regions, I notice all the extra hours that teams are putting in. How many nights a week would you have your daughter practice, and how many nights a week does she want to practice. There is competitiveness and a desire to win, and there is over...

GHR seems to have a very great approach to his team and understands where they are at. To often these days, do we seem to follow the example of no child left behind. We lower education standards to make sure that everyone can pass. Teachers are told to give extra credit to students to help raise the...

I think RAD has a valid point in that, as we travel with our teams, we see a variety of styles by our referee's. I think that in different regions you receive people from those regions as refs, so in-turn, the mentality of the majority of those from that region seems to be the style of refereeing. I...

rj when is it bull when stating fact. That is all I am doing. If you think NWC is so deep then fine, I don't. IMHO. I am sure if we look at score sheets from NWC we would see a ton of goals and assists from there forwards and very few points from there D. I have seen them play enough to know. Yes th...

Knights get real! Im sorry but when you play a game in Bemidji then bus home to a scrimmage I think that might take the gas out of any team. I know NWC is talented. I still say that EDINA was not fresh. Davinci I think NWC has 2 strong forwards on each of there 2 lines and there defense leaves a lot...
