Definition of a great team

Well here goes. I am betting that most people are thinking about this but are a little hesitant to put it into words. I was personally appalled and shocked at the Warroad coaches behavior on the bench both during his interview on television (you know the one where he had some very choice words to sa...

My daughter participated in Jr Fest several years ago. She had aspirations for MANY years that she not only wanted to go to college BUT she also wanted to continue playing the sport she loves (hockey, of course). I did what I could for her by paying for a variety of "extra" hockey games/to...

northerngal65, Those are some awefully bold accusations. I agree with the others in saying that this is not the place to file complaints. My question is, are you talking about the coach at Sartell/Sauk Rapids or are you talking about a coach somewhere else? It seems as though you aren't from the Sa...

Along this same topic, is it ok for a male coach to meet with a female athlete, in private, one-on-one? Many parents of the team have vented over many an "incident" that the coach has done in the past but the coach continues on his merry way molding some of the girls into "mini-coach&...

SCOUTS AT JR FEST

I see they have continued the format that was started last year with the two pools. For those of you that did it last year. Is it worth it for the kids that are placed in pool B? Are they even looked at by the scouts? Do you feel it was worth it? Just curious. It WAS worth it to attend Jr Fest 2010...

NO GATE FEE

omg~~~ So shocked but oh so pleasantly surprised that they weren't asking for admission to go and watch the hockey games! Thank you MGHCA. It is about time and I sure wish there were more of them out ther that didn't have to do that. The majority of those watching are parents (who have already forke...

Not sure why they couldn't find a more central location. It is central for some! :-) I actually like only having to drive 10-15 miles over 45-50 nice change for the other half of the metro. You call this "central"??? For who? Guess you tend to forget there are people that have to travel H...

REF'S IN SILVER BAY

Looking for any input on other's that have been to games in Silver Bay. Every year that we play on their home ice, the officiating has been AWFUL no matter who's got the "stripes" on. We "used" to have two refs that seemed to be there each year and I always believed that they eac...

I have noticed that the majority of games over the past several years have gotten a lot more physical than in the past (my daughter has been playing for 5 years). This would be regular season games only, not including play offs or tournaments. Why have they become this way? My other concern is the c...

12/8/09 Grand Rapids/Greenway (7AA) 4 Eveleth-Gilbert Area (7A) 3 Shots on goal: GRG - 26 EG - 17 Quite an interesting game considering that these two teams haven't played each other in 5 years. The score of that game was CONSIDERABLEY one sided (not sure on the exact score but it was around 14 - 0 ...

This is a great question; where is the best place to look for scores and stats? I think it's the MILLION dollar question.... :-k . I have been looking at all the various sites (along with a few that I didn't even know existed) and it would take a SMALL army to enter everything on each of these sites...

Note: These two teams met in the section finals last year. The game went into 3 overtimes. Eveleth Gilbert eventually scored and advanced to the State of MN tournament.

Re: Advice needed

I am a total "newbie" to this but I will do my best to respond. My first thought was what does your daughter want? Does she play the game because she loves the sport? What are her future aspirations when it comes to hockey? I support my daughter in her goals but I don't push her into doing...
