Re: Never too early for rankings…
I don't think this is a one answer fits all scenario but do see more and more US players (Mn players included) heading to the CHL but only time will tell. Sure, but there are only so many spots. Malachi McKinnon & Poul Anderson are having great years for Sherwood Park. Why weren't they on Fargo...

Re: Section Changes
Got sent a new one today... Austin will be AA and fill up 1AA with 8 teams. The Packers have an enrollment of 1159 up over 100 kids from 2 years ago and they co-opt with both Pacelli High School & Southland High School whose enrollments cut 1/2 equal out to bump them over the line. Austin will ...

Re: Never too early for rankings…
Word is Matayas is leaving CDH early to go to the WHL. Wow. CHL is really good at identifying the best players in the world, and better at chewing up the rest. Seems like a race to nowhere. What's the rush. Does the fact they no longer lose their D1 eligibilty change this at all? Sounds like a grea...

Re: Coaching Changes
I stand corrected...looking those kids up, I see now that a couple of those kids did actually play a couple years for Twigs before leaving early for juniors. But can we at least agree that what Twigs was handed roster wise was nothing close to what Lee use to have almost every year... Twigs did los...

Re: Coaching Changes
It looks like the perfect storm hit Twiggs 1. He didn't recruit when even schools like Shakopee has figured out that it's the only way to win. 2. He lacked numbers - EP's program has half the kids playing hockey as they did during the Rau, Leddy, Casey era... 3. Did Twiggs ever get to coach a legit...

Re: 2025-2026 Schedules
Better question is when and why did these things stop being a bracket style tournament type event? Haven't been paying that close of attention to know when the switch was made but I do know that at some point relatively recently that switch was made.

Rosemount 4-20-1. Took second place.  That Rosemount fiasco was the final nail in the two tier coffin, it really showed what a farce it was. Impressive that the first nail was also the final nail! For those who were just too young to know how it worked can anyone explain

Re: A State Seeding???
FWIW, here is how Pagestat would seed them 1. Hibbing 2. Orono 3. St. Cloud Cathedral 4. Northfield 5. East Grand Forks 6. Mahtomedi 7. Northern Lakes 8. Luverne I like using the metrics they do for seeding sections but I would probably prefer using something like pagestat to seed state. So many une...

Re: Section Venues
I've listened to the past 2 episodes of the YHH pod and they have multiple times discussed the venue for 8AA but have not explained very well how it works. Can anyone explain how it works? high seed for semis and then neutral site for championship based on location. choices are usually thief river,...

Re: The good old days
It's not streaming. That's why I mentioned it started well before streaming became common, and early streaming quality was very lackluster. It's often not great now. Also, steams that are on YouTube show how many are watching. I've never seen trupl digits. In '83-'84 Johnson had theirnlast best tea...

Re: The good old days
I don't think HS hockey in Minnesota has faded in popularity. Arenas are still packed for big games, there is excitement and people seem to be engaged. What does seem to have faded in popularity is bantering with strangers about it. I do feel like there's just a desire to consume content rather tha...

If you're a parent of one of these kids understand this 1. You don't need the NDTP Program - Your Kid doesn't need the NDTP program 2. Do you really want to ship your 16 year old kid off to live with strangers in Michigan? 3. Did you just watch the High School State tournament? I guarantee you your...

Just hope it isn't so top heavy in AA next year. Everyone pretty much knew it was going to be the 2AA and 6AA winner in the state title game by the time the calendar flipped to 2024. Not to steer too off-topic, but cracks in the foundation that take away from the fan experience that need to be addr...

Re: Sharpest and most boring uniforms at the tournament
Great 1. Edina - a true classic just a bummer we didn't get to see their Green's this year 2. Warroad - another classic that I hope never changes 3. Orono - their blue stunned me with how good it was, sharp with not too much going on Good 4. White Bear Lake - the bear paw logo is one of the best in...
