JAF -

What is the purpose of the rip on the high school kid? Her parents do something to you?

Is this the venue for a fight between parents from Woodbury and Eastridge whose kids will likely be cut, placed on JV or forced to go back and pay for U14s if combined versus parents whose kids will play varsity if combined?

Let's be realistic, you can't pilfer and decimate the U14's and the U12's by forcing them to play HS hockey, just to get to the "numbers". The numbers don't add up. Please. So East Ridge has 32 9th through 12 graders next year and they want to combine? That doesn't include any of next yea...

What math made all the returning players off of the 7 existing teams

(2 U14, 2 JV, 2 V, 1 U19B)

PLUS

all the second year U12 players off of 4 U12 teams =

only 4 high school teams.

Sounds like "competitive" math to me.

Including rostered players and projected U14 players who no longer have eligiblity to return to their teams base upon age limitations ...

Am I reading this right? Are you excluding a number of U14 players?

I would suspect that the SEC AD's have to approve in addition to MSHSL. Conferences approved North Metro coop, and untied the Mayo coop, a couple years ago.

Subtract the kids that didn't try out/can't schedule/don't want to play in junior fest and I'm starting to wonder if anyone got cut.

8 full teams of juniors, 20 players each - plus alternates? I doubt they cut many.

It is to bad there are not the numbers to start a third program in girls HS hockey ?? CG and WB have 6 teams of 8th graders through 12th (2 u14s, 2 JVs, 2 varsity). Plus, there is a U19B Cottage Grove team listed on the CGYHA website. I doubt that team was all CG/Woodbury kids, but there are easily...

Good luck to the EP and Lakeville girls tonight.

MNH, not sure if you are also awarding major cash prizes for the final round of play-offs, but the first section final is tomorrow night.

I'd suggest that next year the Section realignment czars send Roseville and HM back in with the Lake teams to restore a little inter-conference sanity. You need to be fair to Roseville. Last year, RV had the #1 section seed and lost to a team in the bottom half of the SEC conference. I suspect the ...

Kennedy obviously struggled this year and probably shouldn't have gone back to a full Lake conference schedule. I don't see how Kennedy's problems somehow translate into top players from the Lake having fraudulent stats. If you take the top 8 lake teams, you will see very even scoring. Keep in mind ...

I don't see the benefit of talking about whether a high school kid is considering leaving a team in a public forum, especially in a way that the kid is easily identified by teammates and coaches.

QRF has more data points (team score totals for every team for every game) which is better when you are only have about 12 games with limited cross-over to put into the computer. Won't matter, KRACH will get very close to QRF when it is over.

Interesting that QRF has Eagan 5, Eastview 12 with LN 21 and LS a few points away from being top 20. I like QRF better than the other formula because it includes more data. Good luck to all the Lake teams during the non-conference tourneys. Good start: Chaska almost tips Minnetonka and Eagan beats B...

At this point, I see some impressive records, but looking at the scores on MGHCA, I don't see many quality wins. Typically in order to get ranked teams need to play and beat ranked teams. I don't see many/if any wins over top 10 A/or top 20 AA teams. Right now, many ranked teams do not have impress...

It's early yet, but it's interesting to see teams with poor win-loss records giving ranked teams more than they can handle.
