Could not agree more with pioneer guy. Not all great players translate into great coaches. Playing and coaching are still two different things.

How does Jack Stang swing going to STA, and be able to play varsity hockey? Also, anyone knowing anything about CDH hockey knows they have played center high in the d zone for years. They did win a state championship recently with it as well. I am not sure having Pohl run the program would make that...

In regards to the St. Paul Blades, I think Jeff Hauer their new coach was a former head coach with the St. Paul Saints girls program a few years ago, good luck to him and the Blades program.

Goalie, Alex Murray from Silver Bay, that is great for the Mariners! Not many kids in that program, which makes it all the better for Alex to make this team. Best of luck to Alex.

When will the final decision be made? Maybe there is a way to have both involved in the program if they think it can work. I still think you need someone with some hs experience running the overall program. I still have not seen from anyone if these bantam coaches have any hs coaching experience or ...

No area can answer how many will stay in their system and play for their high school. That includes EP, Edina, WBL, Wayzata, and the list can go on. About the only way you can make sure they stay is to get them all in the arena, lock the doors and throw away the key. Even if you are a winning bantam...

If the current A bantam coaches do not have hs coaching experience at all, does it make sense to put them at the helm of the varsity and the entire MV hs program? It sounds like the players like to play for the current assistant coach and it also sounds like several parents also support this assista...

Do not see this one listed on the MSHSL? Is it true that the coach was let go?

Moundsview

According to the MSHSL site, looks like Moundsview is looking for a new coach. Any thoughts on the current status of the program? Looks like they should be fairly competitive the next couple years.

brandy, the word is that the St. Paul Saints co-op will only field a varsity team this year. Many of the St. Bernard's players ended up at Concordia Academy. Yes, it is really sad that St. Bernard's closed, but now it is time to move on for many of those students.

Get well quick

He was on the class AA 2006 champion CDH team and has done very well for himself on and off the ice. Ben is a great kid and I hope he has a full recovery so he can get back on the ice with the Beavers.

SSP Coaches

Why does it seem that you guys in SSP have been complaining about coaching over the span of the the current coach and the coach just before him? What about the shrinking numbers in SSP youth which will also result in shrinking talent? It seems that the landscape has really changed in SSP over the ye...

B1 player on D1 team

The player must have come from one of the D1 associations and for some reason waivered to Edina.

D1 has had B players in the past being the land of opportunity. But, this is the final year for a D1 Advanced 15 team as D1 breaks up and goes to play in other districts next season.

SW prez, sounds like things are in a worse way than I thought in the district. Good to hear that you are getting numbers in the Mpls area, I still wonder if the majority of them head off to the private schools and do not stay for Mpls city hockey? As I said earlier, the HS situation in the St. Paul ...

The topic of other surrounding smaller associations joing forces with D1 has gone on for several years now, and I tend to agree that nobody wants to make the hard decisions to get this done. There was a meeting years ago at the Metro College Campus where a plan was drawn up and was to be looked at b...

Frozen Water - you are correct about Leddy. Also around that time Everson, Baker, Lapic, Adams, Kristo, Fons, to name a few also played in the Elite II league for a year. Obviously the talent changes from year to year, but the league is a very good place to play some competitive games to prepare for...

Looks like only JV for 2009-10 from what I have heard. Anyone hear anything different? They still do not pull enough players out of the Highland Central youth association. Most players go to the private schools.
