3-6 minute shift- stay on the subject
Does anyone know of any coaches besides Mounds View who do this ?
This is just killing their chances and getting worse since 2009 began.
Players, coaches or anyone from different schools, please let us know what the average shift is or should be.

Why would a coach tell this years juniors to not bother trying out for next years team? They don't know who will get better over the summer. THey don't even know who will be trying out next fall. This is insane. Pick the best team at the time and PLAY TO WIN. Experience does mean something. But seni...

Most of the kids on this team never even met Nitti before. A few of the seniors may have played for him, but I'm not even sure about that. He's been gone for 4 years. I think most of the people that forced him out are long gone or their kids never made the high school team. Ask some of the WB player...

These players (mules) want to be worked hard. Want to be better. I 've seen most of the games this season and the coaches don't even go in the locker room between periods. On the bench preparing for an overtime period or using a timeout- and don't say anything to the players. They practice the same ...

They won a great game that day. This is a TEAM sport. It's plain and simple- you can't win games only using one line. Some players play shifts about 5 minutes long. No team, not even in the NHL does this. If you want to play the favorites at the very least keep them fresh. These players are so gasse...

This happens every game at Mounds View. Seriously what are these coaches thinking. People without any kids on the team have even started to notice of this stuff. They have started to leave a senior D and sometimes his line mate out that long every game. Happens a little bit on some forward lines too...

3-6 minute shifts for players?
Does anyone know why a coach would keep players on the ice this long in a high school game? You don't see that happening on any teams from the NHL to mites. Has anyone ever seen this happening on their team?
Please someone help me understand this.

Just about the entire varsity team ( maybe minus 1) are ready for a change in leadership. This varisty coach is in his 4th year there. Loads of players have left and the ones left are starting to feel it too. This coach doesn't know how to coach kids, because he never did until he came to Mounds Vie...

Savvy2631- just to update you, Alt didn't even play with them last year- he played at Cretin as a freshman. They lost Wolter- and sure they miss him, but he was not their whole team last year. Mueller is great, but Roseville wouldn't be able to do it without the rest of the team either. The list is ...

From what I hear- the kids and parents would be thrilled I think that would ensure some confidence with the program for the kids coming back for 08-09. The current coach is probably a great guy- but I don't think his coaching philosophy/methods are working. Hope they don't put their upcoming talent ...

Do you really think Phil would have started coaching at Stillwater if he didn't have a kid of his own on his way up to high school? There is definitely some bad blood there in Stillwater. Elitist attitudes, bad decisions and parent over-involvement are bad mix. Kids leave associations all over the s...

Moundsview was outplayed and outcoached. Moundsview has had 3 players quit since the last time they played Roseville. Mueller is deadly with the puck and they knew that from the last time, when he scored on a penalty shot to win a scoreless game. Huge difference in coaching and methods and it showed...

Stillwater just isn't that good w/ or w/out the Housley boys. Moundsview has actually won more games than Stillwater. Moundsview is #50 and Stillwater is #48. It also looks like they have more GF and less GA. Take a look for yourself http://www.minnhock.com/pagestat.htm Moundsview had a good game on...

I heard the Geno kid used to play at Stillwater, from what I saw of him he could play the game- when he wanted to. Apparently he has a lot of attitude and thought he was special. Seemed like he played hard when he felt like it- which wasn't all the time. He was a junior. The other one that left rece...
