To clear up the Walker/Baer/WHL players debate: Per MN Hockey policy, players who made the previous year's national camp automatically make the section team the following year, as long as they show up at the tryout. Walker, obviously, showed up. Baer, for whatever reason, did not. As they both made...

Elliott, Why is it not allowed? Is it a USA hockey rule? Is it a MN Hockey rule? Thanks for sharing. That is a peculiar rule. I wonder if it came into being after the formation of the Wisconsin Fire. There are no Tier I teams in close proximity to District 2, so what you're left with is the inabilit...

Re: Lakeville Hockey Board Questions
I was reading through the minutes of the LHA Board for the past few months and talking to other people in the association and had some questions that don't seem to make sense: Why would the board remove the audio portion of the board meetings? For those who could not attend the meetings, it was a g...

Stay on topic. Sorry, to get back on the topic, Is it acceptable to back out of a tournament after the schedules have been posted and is it reasonable to put a team in that should't be? Yes it is acceptable to back out after the schedules are posted. Yes it is reasonable to put a team in that shoul...

The dispute is solved, right? MM is a business looking to expand their market share thus increase revenue. D6 is a business looking to hold onto their top talent and stay amongst the premiere Districts. Both are trying to protect/enhance their business. If Walmart changes its strategy to compete wi...

http://www.d6hockey.net/ "New Rules - Leagues District 6 recognizes that participation on a District 6 youth hockey team is a time intensive and competitive activity and, in the spirit of advancing the overall best interests of both its youth participants and the District 6 teams, has determine...

Re: Select 14
Why does not Minnesota compete in the Select 14 like the rest of the country is doing? They don't. Not sure 'why'. Minnesota also uses a different cutoff date, enforces game limits, doesn't participate in nationals, and has zip code hockey where you have to play where you live. Those running Minnes...

Good question, I see their pool should be quite challenging!?! They might need those first 5 games to ease into things, you know get their feet under them. Should be good practice beating everyone 10-0 before they see the icemen and the monopoly in the cross over games. But like you said HD41 they ...

There are too many AAA teams? Why? Because you think the tourneys can't attrack out of state teams? Our tourneys will always attrack out of state teams. Is it because you are concerned that without the top out of state teams coming in the Blades and Machine won't have anyone to play here?? Again, w...

SECoach - Thanks, you don't play the FIRE no problem but the issue isn't who does and who doesn't play any team, it's that one director feels it appropriate to tell everyone they cannot. Do I believe that minnesota hockey makes decisions for the benefit of their own kids. Not at all. Do I believe s...

Re: Scrimmage Scores
Scrimmage Scores from this morning. Wayzata 3 97 Fire 1 Edina 6 97 Capitals 5 Both well played fast games Looks like the WI teams are just good ol' MN A teams. Not some feared Tier I AAA monsters. Elliott, Why would the top MN PWA teams fear the younger 97 teams? I think the only entity that fears ...

Re: 3%???
Educated Guess Based on number of schools in MN, 82% of students attend public schools with less than 1/2 of 1 percent participating in open enrollment. Use 10 percent, my point is this. MN hockey is community based, hockey for all. Why not spend more time and effort on things that benefit all. ie c...

Help Elliott70
Lets say that this does indeed get changed. Can each District implement their own version? Furthermore can each individual association implement something different from the district and/or mn hockey? I can see both sides on this one, like most policies. What I am really having a hard time with is t...

Re: Fargo
Please don't pass judgement on the Farmington hockey community based on bigstick's arrogance! Pretty sure we know who he is...and yes his kid is a Farm Sq A ...barely!! Our Sq A is a good team, and yes they have a handful of very talented players. However, the talent falls quickly on the bottom hal...
