Re: Shattuck

Anyone who has been on this board knows I have no ties to the shattuck program. I stated my opinion. Take a look at the number of posts that talk about youth hockey, hs hockey, etc. <1% is about shattuck, because as I stated, no one in minny really cares. SSM hockey should be insulted to be include...

Sorry, but television does not lie...There was lots of empty seats last night on television Its just like the wild games sellout streak. The tickets may be sold, but I can vouche that the place is not packed. Sorry that you might have seen 10 empty seats last night. People do get up every once in a...

Zero atmosphere at the tourney

Where are the students and bands? It sounds dead at the X. Times sure have changed.

There's nothing worse than a crappy band. Good bands really help the atmosphere. I vote for bands over some horrid stadium rock. Canned music stinks!

I think it's embarrassing that C-I and NB would consider merging. Why can't these two large school field teams? I know they aren't in hockey country. But come on

This doesn't say much for the sport of hockey. Or maybe it speaks volumes...

The Gophers problems stem from the pressure of tradition. Its Gopher tradition to recruit almost exclusively from instate, this leads to recruiting the top MN HS kids. (Which the gophers do basically get their pick) Think about the number of true freshman the gophers have been playing in recent yea...

Not only are the students in the rafters...I think they've cut back on the number of tickets allotted to each school. I've been to both the X and the old Civic Center for the tourney. The X is a beautiful and luxurious arena. But the X and the MSHSL have absolutely destroyed the atmosphere of the to...

Mariucci is half the size of the X. Maybe they could compromise and hold it there. Having this tourney in a empty arena hurts the sport.

I have never had a problem with private schools "recruiting" athletes. After all, they are a private entitiy. But after reading some of the posts during the last month, I may be changing my tune. Are the MSHSL bi-laws on recruiting and open enrollment enforceable on ALL members of the lea...

We are all under the same "umbrella" and held to the same standards. Like I've always said, if the MSHSL had evidence that a school violated recruiting their laws, they would go after them. Given the anti-private school sentiment out there, the MSHSL would get a big pat on the pack for bu...

Re: Was it because St Cloud is in?

I was only able to see watch the 3rd period, but, was amazed at the lack of intensity (especially in a close game against the Gophers) by St Cloud. Even so they did tie the game. The penalty, nulified the little spark of momentum that was starting. Last night, St Cloud looked like the tired :? team...

The tournament may have been interesting to see live. But watching the broadcast was brutal. Besides the crappy games, the atmosphere was dead and the crowd noise was pathetic.

Was it a little more exciting inside The X?
