I figured, but wanted to make sure. You didn't seem like the type to do something like that.

Tell your friend with FSN they should do the semi-finals in 7AA at the DECC. Should be two great games and they are at 1:00 and 3:00 on Sat. Feb 25. Plus the Gophers are in Anchorage that weekend whick FSN doesn't televise anyways.

Yeah, they don't have to do the finals cuz Grand Rapids won't be in there.

Sorry man, I had to.

Elk River AA State Champions- 2001 Boys & 2004 Girls

FSN can't do the finals, a Duluth station already has the rights to that game.

Enjoy Elk River getting beat by Brainerd in Brainerd in the Quarterfinals 4 vs. 5 game.

I just talked to my buddy at FSN and GR19 is correct on this one, it has been taken in Duluth.

I was told that FOX has a certain number of games they plan to do, and then if the ratings and attendance is good with the games in combo, that they may ad a few games.

I sure hope they dont count the Swans cup! One could bring an ugly date to that game and no one would ever know! So, bring your date and attend! I hope they can sell some tickets for that event!

The Slinger

Format

Post by boblee »

So what is the format for this gunslinger? Do you know who's announcing it? Will they be conducting intermission interveiws with players/coaches? Are they trying to make this similar to what theu did for High School Football?

I hope it's either Wally and Lou, or Frank M. and the Professor of hockey, Doug Woog.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... hs>GR19 at: 12/2/05 6:41 pm

Anyone know if I might be able to listen to the game on the internet (I'm hoping for a live stream from a radio station). I'm an old White Bear Mariner grad living in Madison, WI and would love to listen to the game.

Thanks for any info you might have.

GR 19, please tell me that was not serious. Wally is horrible on the radio, and Frank and doug are barely listenable on TV

I like Frank and Doug. I learn a lot about the game from Woog. Wally and Lou are just old school to me. I remember watching HS tourney games way back with them on. I'd be all for it. I just hope they get guys that will pronounce the names right.

I'll give ya Lou, i like him. And i get the old school part with Shaver, however I still dislike Frank and Doug. Doug says the stupidest things most of the game. But in the end we can both agree, i hope they get someone that can pronounce the names, especially the warroad kids, we all know the people at channel 9 always had a hard time during the state tournament, as far back as I can remember (which is back to the late 80's lol)

I agree Doug says some wierd things during the game. He's kind of a goofball, but when he gets into the X's and O's I find it enlightening.

Are they 100% not going to drop that list of games? When will they announce the games to the schools that are playing in them? Because I live in Rochester and know that the Century vs. JM game is in like 2 weeks and nobody including the teams and coaches even know about it..... I'll belive he knows his X's and O's you can't be a college coach without knowing it, maybe i just don't know enough hockey to understand the full effect of what he's saying

getting into this

Post by boblee »

Is anyone as excited about this as I am. I play on taping every game aired on FSN this year and creating a DVD collection, along with all the state tournament games. That is a lot of hockey to look back on whenever I feel.

How do you make DVD's out of them? Do you transfer them to DVD from tape? Im curious on the process!

Again, I think its a great thing for the game!

-The Slinger

DVD-VHS

Post by boblee »

You can either tape them and then copy them to VHS or you can get a DVD copier and "tape" it right off of the television onto the DVD...that is the much easier way. I have video recorded PeeWee games in the past and converted them to DVD. It is fairly simple.

Anyone know what cable channels FSN North is on in the metro area, specifically Minneapolis & St.Paul. I checked the TV schedule that came with the Sunday Mpls paper and it just lists FSN, which I assume is the national network as the WBL-Hill game is not listed in the FSN schedule. I don't have cable but I'd like to ask my brother or sister to tape it for me so it'd be nice to know.

Digitally recording has to be easier than taping and converting the tape to DVD. If you're making copies for other people the DVD format is much preferred as there can be a significant drop in quality the farther you get from the original tape. I know there's interest in older state tourney games and think it would be a nice project to convert older games to DVD and either swap DVDs or distribute for blank DVDs and postage but I don't have the setup for that right now.
