I was watching the end of the C. Mich/N. Mich game last night. One of the teams had 2nd & Goal then 3rd & Goal from less than the 1 yard line. It didn't look like they scored, but were given the TD on the 3rd down. It was a situation where, with the pile up, it would've probably been impossible to overturn a call either for or against the TD. When that happened I was thinking it would be nice if they had sensors or something so they could tell for sure. Sensors on either side of the TD line and then ones all over the inside of the ball to know for sure if there was a TD.
This is one of many possibilities for having what actually happened be called and not just what refs see. What are peoples' thoughts on where the line should be drawn between technology and human factors?
