Another open scholarship for the U starting next year???

Post by ghshockeyfan »

I assume as a result of this article/agrement that we can expect a scholarship to open up next year that might not otherwise:

<a href="http://www.startribune.com/stories/503/ ...

So, this may open the door to sign one of the remaining elite players in the area (or elsewhere)???

Available Scholarship

It would seem so, and I think you're are correct. I wish Krissy the best and savor all the GREAT hockey and excitement she provided for Gopher fans...glad I was able to witness it on a regular basis. Like coach H said, anyone who missed the last three seasons games really missed something...something the likes of which isn't likely to be seen again any time soon.

For the program I think it's good to have the answer and know where they stand at this point.

Yeah, that timing is pretty "interesting" whether it was a factor or not. I've heard she's a heckuva player...happy to have her at Minnesota. I'm not giving up on a couple local stars yet...not until they're on somebody else's dotted line anyway. It's possible I may be a more dedicated proponent of local talent than others...I particularly enjoy the "local" flavor to the team. However, I'm never against recruiting gifted players where ever they may be from.
